Summary

The HR Project Manager executes HR initiatives, priority programs, and approved process improvement efforts within established frameworks. Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Planning & Projects, this role develops structured project and implementation plans, coordinates cross-functional execution across HR Centers of Expertise (COEs) and business partners, and monitors progress against defined timelines and outcomes. The position supports the implementation of HR process improvements by documenting current-state workflows, coordinating rollout activities, and tracking performance indicators to ensure effective adoption and measurable results.

What You'll Do

  • Develops and manages comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, dependencies, milestones, and resource requirements aligned with approved HR priorities.
  • Coordinates cross-functional execution across HR COEs, business partners, and enterprise stakeholders; facilitate working sessions to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
  • Monitors milestones, risks, constraints, and interdependencies; escalate issues to the Senior Manager with recommended options.
  • Documents current-state HR processes and coordinates implementation of approved future-state improvements.
  • Tracks performance indicators related to project delivery, process efficiency, quality, and adoption.
  • Provides status reporting and data input for portfolio dashboards and performance reviews.
  • Contributes insights to strengthen HR's project management discipline and operating rhythm.
  • Supports change readiness, training coordination, and transition activities to promote effective adoption.
  • Monitors adoption progress and surface implementation insights to inform adjustments.
  • Tracks project-level budgets, vendor invoices, and resource utilization in coordination with the Senior Manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 9 years may be considered.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional projects using structured project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and project management platforms.

Preferred
  • Utility or other regulated-industry experience.
  • Certifications: PMP, Prosci/Change Management, SHRM-CP, PHR.


Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
