As a HR People Partner, you will support Manufacturing and Fleet Operations organizations by serving as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees alike. You will help drive organizational effectiveness, strengthen leadership capability, navigate complex employee relations matters, and ensure the company scales responsibly while maintaining the high standards and culture that define 1X.
Key Outcomes- Build trusted partnerships with leaders across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Fleet Operations that improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and team performance.
- Lead complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, consistency, and compliance while protecting both employees and the business.
- Strengthen leadership capability through coaching, guidance, and partnership on people management, performance management, and organizational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, leave programs, investigations, and workplace policies.
- Support organizational growth through talent planning, performance management, compensation processes, workforce planning, and scalable people programs.
Key Competencies- Exceptional employee relations practitioner with strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex workplace situations.
- Trusted advisor capable of influencing leaders across multiple organizational levels while balancing business and employee needs.
- Strong understanding of California employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices within operational environments.
- Effective communicator who can build credibility and trust with both hourly and salaried employee populations.
- Adaptable operator who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Minimum Requirements- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years managing employee relations matters in California.
- Demonstrated expertise in California labor law, wage and hour regulations, leave administration, investigations, corrective actions, and employment compliance.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, operations, engineering, or other highly regulated and operationally intensive environments.
- Proven ability to influence leaders and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Strong communication skills, judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive employee and business matters.
Preferred Skills- HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Experience supporting organizations transitioning from R&D into manufacturing and production environments.
- Experience standing up HR programs, policies, and systems within high-growth companies.
- Background in robotics, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, hardware, or other deep-tech industries.
- Experience partnering closely with Legal, Compliance, and executive leadership teams on organizational and workforce matters.

Compensation Range$130,000 - $180,000 per year + Equity
