Full Job Description
EOG Resources is seeking an HR Financial Analyst to support the budget forecasting, financial discrepancy analysis, and reporting of human resources costs for workforce general and administrative expenses including recruiting, compensation and benefit programs, payroll and employment taxes, training and development, and corporate giving. This position will serve as a key liaison between Human Resources and Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and data integrity across all HR-related financial activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, track, analyze, and reconcile HR-related costs, including salaries, benefits, incentives, recruiting, and training expenses
  • Maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual HR cost reports for leadership review
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to visualize labor trends, headcount changes, and cost drivers
  • Ensure alignment between HR data, payroll data, divisions, and financial systems.
  • Lead the annual HR budgeting process in coordination with HR leadership and Financial Planning
  • Build and maintain workforce forecasting models, including headcount, compensation, benefits, and turnover
  • Update rolling forecasts based on hiring plans, organizational changes, and financial performance.
  • Provide scenario modeling to support strategic workforce planning
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast; identify drivers and provide recommendations
  • Support compensation and benefits analysis, including cost modeling for merit increases, incentive programs, and plan changes
  • Partner with recruiting and business units to evaluate hiring plans and workforce-related costs
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across HRIS, payroll, and financial systems
  • Support internal and external audit activities and ensure compliance with company policies and controls
  • Provide financial analysis and ROI evaluations for HR programs and initiatives
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, Finance, Accounting, Payroll, and Information Systems to improve data integration and reporting processes
  • Assist General Accounting with accruals, reserves, and cost recognition for HR-related expenses
  • Analyze benefit claims to identify trends and cost drivers
  • Support wellness, safety, and cost-containment initiatives through data analysis
  • Prepare presentations and provide ad hoc analysis for management
