Full Job Description
The Compensation Analyst leads and supports compensation programs for Signal Energy, partnering closely with HR and business leaders to deliver competitive, compliant, and market-aligned pay practices. This role blends strong analytical execution with elevated advisory responsibilities, supporting the design and administration of
compensation structures, job architecture, and annual pay programs using compensation best practices. This position operates at an advanced individual contributor level and serves as a key resource for complex compensation analysis, program support, and stakeholder consultation, without formal people management responsibility.

1. Partner with HR leadership on job evaluations, pay leveling, and compensation planning.
2. Lead and support annual compensation cycles, including merit, promotional increases, and other pay programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and approved budgets.
3. Conduct market pricing reviews and job evaluations to maintain competitive salary structures aligned with Houston-area and industry labor markets.
4. Serve as a trusted compensation resource to HR partners and business leaders by providing guidance on pay decisions, job leveling, and internal equity considerations.
5. Design, maintain, and enhance job architecture, salary structures, and leveling frameworks, including:
- Evaluating new and evolving roles and integrating them into existing frameworks
- Selecting and analyzing relevant salary survey data sources
- Recommending market-aligned pay ranges and adjustments
- Ensuring consistency in job mapping across departments
6. Develop, implement, and manage bonus and incentive plans aligned with company and project performance.
7. Analyze compensation trends, pay equity, and compression risks; translate findings into clear recommendations and decision support materials.
8. Support organizational change initiatives by delivering compensation insights, data analysis, and communications tied to business needs and outcomes.
9. Monitor federal and state compensation-related legislation to ensure ongoing compliance with pay transparency, wage, and classification requirements.
10. Lead or support special compensation projects and process improvements as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in compensation or total rewards
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) (completed or in progress) or other recognized compensation certification programs - Preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and model complex compensation data.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data modeling, and database usage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present compensation insights to leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in sensitive compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple.
  • Experience with prevailing wage and Davis Bacon projects.
  • Familiarity with compensation planning tools and market pricing platforms (e.g., AON (HCA), CompAnalyst, ERI)
  • Familiar with HRIS payroll systems (e.g. UltiPro (UKG), Vista/Viewpoint, etc.)

This role is based in the Downtown Houston office 4 days a week with the ability to work from home on Friday.
