At Lerners, we are building a modern, strategic HR function that supports our people and enables firm-wide success. We're looking for an experienced HR Consultant - Employee Relations & Workforce Support to play a key role in shaping a fair, consistent, and high-performing workplace.

This is a high-impact role where you will serve as the firm's go-to expert on employee relations and workforce support matters, helping leaders navigate complex situations with confidence while ensuring employees feel supported and respected.

As a trusted advisor and operational expert, you will:

Lead Employee Relations & Workforce Support

  • Provide expert guidance to leaders (lawyers and managers) on complex employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and workplace concerns
  • Conduct workplace assessments and support fair, consistent case outcomes
  • Assess risk and recommend solutions that balance business needs with employee experience


Support Accommodations, Attendance & Leaves

  • Manage workplace accommodation processes in alignment with legal requirements
  • Oversee attendance management and leave coordination
  • Support return-to-work planning and successful reintegration


Enable Strong Performance Management

  • Advise leaders on performance management practices and documentation
  • Support the implementation of performance improvement plans
  • Contribute to firm-wide performance management initiatives


Drive Consistency & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate, high-quality documentation and case management
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce risk, and enhance service delivery
  • Build leader capability in managing workforce issues effectively
  • Provide responsive, practical support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment


What You Bring

Education & Knowledge

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • CHRP designation preferred (CHRL considered an asset)
  • Solid understanding of Ontario employment-related legislation (e.g., ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, AODA, PIPEDA)


Experience & Expertise

  • Significant experience managing employee relations matters, workplace accommodations, attendance management, and leaves
  • Demonstrated experience advising leaders on complex workforce issues and conflict management
  • Proven ability to advise on performance management processes
  • Experience working within a professional services environment, legal sector, or similarly complex organization is an asset

Target Hiring Range: $93,670 - $110,900

Commensurate with skill level, years of experience, and aligned with internal and market equity.
