Role PurposeThe Compensation Consultant supports the design, administration, analysis, and communication of compensation programs that help Corning attract, retain, and motivate talent. This role provides compensation expertise and market-informed recommendations to HR and business stakeholders, while helping ensure programs are competitive, consistently applied, and aligned with Corning's total rewards philosophy and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as an internal compensation consultant to HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Shared Services, and business leaders on job evaluation, market pricing, promotions, policy interpretation, pay decisions, and compensation-related issue resolution.
- Conduct compensation analyses and develop recommendations to support hiring, retention, internal equity, and other business needs.
- Participate in annual compensation surveys, ensure high-quality data submissions, and use survey results to support salary structure and range development.
- Support annual compensation planning and salary review processes through system testing, training, data validation, reporting, and post-cycle analysis.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to communicate compensation programs, guidelines, and decisions effectively.
- Provide analytical support and expertise to uncover deep market and program insights, support data driven decisions, and enable a comprehensive costing and forecasting capability around the company's compensation programs.
- Maintain expertise in compensation philosophy, salary benchmarking, job evaluation, variable pay programs, and compensation governance.
- Help ensure compensation programs and practices are administered consistently and in compliance with internal policies and applicable legal requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, training materials, and change management for compensation programs.
Experiences/Education - Required- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of compensation experience, or related experience in HR or finance with significant analytical responsibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced Excel capability and comfort working with large datasets.
- Experience working with HRIS systems such as SuccessFactors and compensation-related tools or survey vendors.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with HR, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain compensation and/or complex/technical concepts clearly to non-specialists.
Experiences/Education - Desired- Experience supporting U.S. compensation programs, including market pricing, salary structures, compensation policy interpretation, and annual compensation cycles.
- Experience in a large, complex, or matrixed organization.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or multi-site employee populations.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, or progress toward certification.
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $90,296.00 - $124,157.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
