Howard University Food Production Manager Requisition #: 681258 Location: WASHINGTON, DC, DC, US Career Area: Culinary Information at a Glance Job Description Aramark Collegiate Hospitality is seeking a Food Production Manager (Kitchen Manager) to oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations for the dining program at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Food Production Manager is responsible for planning, administering, and directing all activities related to food production and kitchen operations while ensuring compliance with Aramark standards, client expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership and support to the culinary team, driving operational excellence, food quality, food safety, and employee engagement. The Food Production Manager will establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus partners and dining leadership to deliver an exceptional dining experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to creating a positive and customer-focused dining environment. COMPENSATION: The Salaried rate for this position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. Job Responsibilities • Management of food cost, food safety and waste controls. • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities • Records inventory and Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques • Assists with managing patient feeding and retail operations as needed. Qualifications • Requires at least 2 years' experience in a kitchen management role. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. • Healthcare experience preferred. • Culinary Arts degree desired. • SERV Safe certification or HACCP knowledge required. • Experience with production systems is required Education
