Hot & Cold Sr. Technician

Facilities Management - A Tech24 Company

Location: Indianapolis, IN and surrounding areas

Compensation Range: $30-$50/hr

Position Summary

As part of the Facilities Management team and boarder Tech24 network, the Senior Commercial Hot & Cold Technician is responsible for driving a company vehicle to customer locations to diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technician with extensive experience servicing both hot-side and cold-side commercial equipment, capable of mentoring junior technicians, managing complex repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and professional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
  • Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
  • Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
  • Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
  • Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities


Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • 5+ years of commercial hot-side and/or refrigeration service experience.
  • EPA Universal Certification preferred
  • Experience mentoring and supporting less experienced technicians.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across commercial foodservice and refrigeration equipment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage service calls with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency for service documentation and communication.
  • Must possess standard industry hand tools.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to continuous learning.


Compensation Transparency

The advertised pay range for this position is $30-$50 Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, manufacture certifications, or specialized expertise may be considered at the higher end of the range.
