Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our President, you will provide comprehensive operational leadership for your specific entity. Your primary responsibility will be to meticulously execute the system's strategic vision within your defined domain, translating overarching organizational goals into actionable, localized plans. You will be fully accountable for the operational and financial performance of your area, encompassing day-to-day management, budget oversight, and the leadership of all local staff, while reporting directly to a higher-level executive within the system.Every day you will lead your teams in the effective management of resources, including personnel, budget, and facilities, ensuring optimal utilization to meet operational targets and deliver high-quality patient care. You will actively engage with community stakeholders, local leaders, and patient populations, solidifying our presence and building strong relationships within the local community. Furthermore, you will continuously monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, patient satisfaction, and financial health within your purview, always aligning with our mission and values.To be successful in this role, you will possess a proven track record of exemplary operational leadership and financial stewardship within a complex healthcare environment. You will be adept at fostering strong community relationships, translating system-wide strategies into local action, and driving results through effective resource utilization and team empowerment.   • Plans, directs and evaluates the daily operations of the assigned hospital, participating with and involving others from the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Leadership Team in assuring the effective delivery of patient care services.
  • Ensures the provision of affordable high quality health care services by appropriately utilizing and organizing available human, financial, and physical resources; monitors, evaluates, and enhances the quality of care and services delivered to patients at the assigned hospital; implements effective and ongoing programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve quality of nursing and clinical care delivered to patients assures that managers and staff incorporate quality improvement methodology in the performance of their work.
  • Accountable and responsible for administrative management and leadership for designated service lines and specialty services, participating in Virginia Mason Franciscan Health policy decisions that affect patient care services and operations relative to the assigned hospital.
  • Oversees financial management of assigned facility including monitoring budgets, productivity measures, and other internal controls to assure targets and maximum performance measures are attained; assists managers in developing corrective action plans and provides direction and accountability in monitoring progress toward defined targets; works with appropriate service line Vice Presidents regarding departmental budgets, productivity and other performance targets.
  • Leads change initiatives by adequately identifying and involving key stakeholders in processes; works to achieve understanding among constituencies and supports and models effective communication; maintains close ties to all hospital departments and to medical staff to assure operations are running smoothly.
  • Serves as administrative resource to managers to help resolve departmental issues such as staffing, employee and patient concerns, utilization of hospital facilities, equipment, and supplies; communicates and consults with appropriate service line Vice Presidents regarding such issues; recommends improvements of hospital facilities, including construction or renovation of structures and purchase of and new equipment.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Other in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field
  • Seven years of management-level experience
  • Three years of progressively responsible management experience in a position with responsibility for multiple service lines and broad hospital operations focus
  • Must have demonstrated experience in quality improvement, marketing, healthcare administration, healthcare standards and regulations, medical care systems, strategic planning, budgeting, financial administration, continuum of care integration and patient care delivery systems and
  • Driver's License: WA, upon hire

Preferred

  • Masters Other in Business Administration, healthcare administration or other healthcare-related field and RN-prepared candidate
