ResponsibilitiesThe Americas Hedge Funds, Corporates and Complex Transaction Client Risk Team (RSR/CCR/FCC) "FCC" acts as the 1st Line of Defense risk team for Counterparty Credit Risk "CCR" in relation to Hedge Funds, Proprietary Trading Groups, Family Offices, Mutual Funds, and other clients trading Complex Transactions (e.g. Exotic Trades, Alternative Risk Transfer, etc.). The Risk Advisor covers:Agency Scope: Prime Services & Clearing (PSC) activities within the Equity Derivatives (EQD) Business Line in Global Markets (MARK)Principal Scope: Bilateral Trading Activities where any MARK Trading Desk is a Principal of the activity. It includes Equity Derivatives (EQD), Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) andDistribution and Credit Solutions (DCS).The team is primarily responsible for the following areas:Portfolio AnalysisLimit RecommendationsClient MarginingRisk MonitoringLimit Overshoot ManagementEnsure that the risk limits remain in line with:- SG Risk Appetite- Changes in Clients risk profile- Scarce Resource targets (Profitability, RWA, Balance Sheet, LRE, NSFR, Cash, LCR)Day To Day Responsabilities :Portfolio Analysis, Front Office and Client InteractionSupports Sales on client pitching by providing risk information with the necessary explanation on how SG define risk and how measures are applied to client portfolios.Assists in due diligence meetings for prospective and existing clients and assists RISQ if requested.Performs and provides analyses ono Client strategies and trading patternso Risks in client portfolios: market risk (systemic, idiosyncratic or dislocation/basis risks), liquidity and concentration risks, wrong way risk, etc.o Margin coverage relevanceo Margin period of risk relevanceo Scarce resource usage if required.Ensures relevance of Risk framework by engaging in on-going discussions with clients regarding their activity.Identifies emerging risks (market events, client-related early warnings) and escalates to MARK senior management and RISQ.Participates in implementing specific post-conditions (for example if a framework/a limit is approved with post-conditions) and/or exceptions if needed. Ensure such post-conditions and/or exceptions are monitored, annually reviewed and renewed.Ensure clients exposures are in line with global frameworks (e.g., financing envelopes for specific assets, CCP limits, etc.)Ensure Front Office is trained on the CCR Framework.Risk LimitsProposes new limits and / or renewals on upcoming expired limits to MARK senior management and RISQ for validation.Participates in Account Closure and Renewal Processes (Limits and Sponsored Direct Market Access "SDMA" connections).Reviews and provides recommendation for Complex Transactions (e.g., Alternative Risk Transfers, etc.)Monitoring / Reporting & Overshoot ManagementEnsures first level monitoring on EOD risk and agency specific limits.Comments overshoots and prepares remediation plans in concert with Front Office for FCC clients.Escalates potential client issues to RISQ and MARK senior management.Performs Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Regulatory reporting as needed (drill down as relevant).Participates in providing material to the relevant committees (e.g., Counterparty Credit Risk Committee "CCRC", Liquidity and Concentration Committee, etc.).Monitors margin disputes and aged/failed payments.Monitors Uncleared Margin Rule "UMR" regulatory overshoots for bilateral clients if applicable.Client MarginingDefines and updates margining rules with client, under the constraints of the risk limits.Ensures margin levels remain adequate for the risks of the client's portfolio.Ensures that margination is set up appropriately in various back office and margination systems.Computes or validates ad-hoc margin amounts.Liaises with GBSU Operations to monitor delayed payment of margin calls and escalates if appropriate.Responds to margining inquiries from GBSU, RISQ and clients.Provides adequate Independent Amount "IA" quotes for Complex Transactions.Participates in the updates of the IA policy and IA grids.Assists Sales in computing Standard Initial Margin Model "SIMM" amounts for new transactions covered by UMR.Client OnboardingProvides risk opinion on new clients and participates in the PSC Business Acceptance Committee (BAC) as needed.Provide portfolio simulations for new clients, including RWA impacts and Profitability.Participates in the Legal Documentation negotiation for credit related termsSpecial projectsParticipates in projects to enhance the productivity of the team.Participates in projects to enhance, develop and implement new and existing risk frameworks.Automates various reporting as requested by management and senior members of the team.Suggests enhancements to the processes.Profile requiredCompetencies:Required:Analytical capability and Problem solving: Able to break down complex problems into simple manageable units, develops solutions for each unit, and integrates them back into the whole.
