Full Job Description
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Support and ensure high level of accuracy.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
  • Prepare business-unit financial reports, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
  • Support project accounting, job costing, revenue recognition, work-in-progress reporting, and project-margin analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to auditor requests.
  • Assist the Business Unit Controller with financial analysis and operational reviews.
  • Identify accounting issues, control deficiencies, financial risks.
  • Partner with engineering and project-management teams to review project costs, estimates, change orders, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to automate activities and improve accounting processes.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting employees.
  • Perform special projects assigned by the Business Unit Controller.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Yes.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and financial-reporting principles. Conceptual understanding of differences between GAAP and IFRS is desired.
  • SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit coordination. Financial reporting and general-ledger management.
  • Project accounting, job costing, revenue recognition, and contract accounting with prior experience with government accounting strongly desired.
  • Financial-statement preparation, account reconciliations, and journal-entry review.
  • Experience with managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. Prior public accounting or large company experience strongly desired.
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial-reporting systems; advanced Microsoft Excel. Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly preferred.
  • Federal Government contract accounting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion using common tools/equipment of the trade.
