Job DescriptionReporting to the Plant Manager, we are actively seeking a results-oriented Safety Manager for our Carthage, Tennessee manufacturing facility.
The Health and Safety Manager is a strategic position which is critical to the achievement of safety and continuous improvement. This position works with plant leadership, serving as an internal consultant on environmental, health and safety initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for insuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws, interacts with employees at all levels to insure said compliance, and leads appropriate training activities. Success in this role will be evaluated based on improving safety metrics as well as activity compliance metrics (OSHA 300 logs, safety training, PPE, etc.). This individual's ability to drive our Safety Vision, while living Bonnell's Core Values and Competencies will also be part of the success criteria.
The selected candidate will have a strong track record and a proven history of achievement in several fields including environmental, health and safety, lean manufacturing, quality and training.
Of particular importance will be the candidate's authentic leadership skills demonstrated by having developed or helped develop an organizational environment of trust, team collaboration and cooperation, learning and personal growth.
We are seeking candidates that also have experience in business environments characterized by challenging operational conditions and/or rapid change of particular importance.
Summary of Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and expertise on Environmental, Health & Safety issues and support site personnel in the management of risks.
- Responsible for achieving compliance with applicable Environmental, Health & Safety requirements specified by regulations, permits, and Corporate standards.
- Integrate Environmental, Health & Safety into departmental planning decision making, systems, and processes.
- Implement and evaluate safety policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with state, federal, and local regulations.
- Develop and perform initial and ongoing safety training for all employees.
- Reports, monitors and reviews claims to insurance carrier. Perform cause analysis on all incidents, accidents and near misses. Tracks incident trends and metrics to apply findings.
- Liaises with claims managers, attorneys, and employees for investigations and litigations.
- Maintain safety related paperwork, forms including OSHA 300 logs, and all required safety training records for employees.
- Develop site safety plan and job hazard analysis for employees to follow.
- Conduct safety audits of personnel, equipment, and ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.

Requirements- Bachelor's Degree (Environmental, Health, and Safety preferred)
- 5 to 10 years in an Environmental, Health and Safety related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software
- Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma and/or Green Belt helpful.
