Full Job Description
You as a Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator will:

  • Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment/treatment and accident/injury reports
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
  • Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals
  • Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals
  • Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
  • Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics
  • Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
  • Manage the onsite health care service provided to employees and subcontractors
  • Manage and oversees the evaluation and treatment of employees with injuries and/or illnesses and referral to a physician or hospital, and subsequent follow-up treatment
  • Follows-up on emergency hospital cases keeping the Claims Management, Site HSE team, project management, and the Regional HSE Director apprised of the status of patients
  • Maintain confidential medical records in secure fireproof cabinets
  • Assist in planning emergency evacuation procedures in conjunction with the site HSE coordinator and project management team
  • Implement project medical database to support the reporting and follow up of injuries/illnesses managed by the on-site medical staff

  • Knowledge of medical record keeping requirements in accordance with standards of professional practice, applicable governmental regulations, and HSE requirements.
  • The salary range for this job is $80,000 - $100,000
