Job title:HSE Advisor, North America

Location: Conroe or Dallas, Texas (with travel)

Reports to: HSE Manager, North America and Retail Health & Safety Manager

Job Summary: The HSE Advisor supports health, safety, environmental, fire protection, and regulatory compliance programs across warehouse, distribution, retail, service, and office locations throughout North America. This role partners with business leaders and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  • Review safety inspection reports, audits, and assessment findings, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions by providing clear, actionable guidance to site leadership, retail teams, and stakeholders regarding required remediation measures, risk controls, and compliance expectations.


  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of safety programs, including hazard identification, near-miss reporting, behavioral safety initiatives, fall protection, respiratory protection, and Take 5 risk assessments.


  • Evaluate operational risks and provide guidance on how to resolve risks associated with warehouse, distribution, retail, and service operations, including powered industrial trucks, loading docks, material handling equipment, pedestrian and vehicle traffic management, storage practices, contractor activities, and customer-facing operations.


  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action development, and follow-up activities, providing practical recommendations and clearly defined action plans to ensure identified issues are effectively resolved.


Fire Protection & Compliance

  • Review fire protection systems and documentation, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signage, evacuation plans, and inspection records.


  • Partner with Facilities, Property Management, Real Estate, and Operations teams to support fire protection, life safety, and building compliance requirements for existing and new facilities.


  • Track and monitor corrective actions related to fire and life safety deficiencies, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.


Incident & Workers' Compensation Management

  • Manage occupational injury and illness reporting processes.


  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, including claim filing, investigation support, monitoring, and resolution.


  • Investigate incidents, maintain accurate documentation, and track corrective actions within company systems.


  • This position may undertake other related duties, projects, and initiatives as required to support the Health, Safety, and Environmental function.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, or related field preferred.


  • 5+ years of progressive HSE experience supporting multiple facilities or geographic regions.


  • Experience supporting warehouse, distribution center, retail, or multi-site operations.


  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational safety requirements.


  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards, fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, and life safety requirements.


  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.


  • Experience managing workers' compensation and regulatory compliance programs.


  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, OHST, or CHST are preferred.


  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.


Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, including overnight travel.


  • Expected travel commitment of 25-50%, depending on geographic responsibilities and business needs.
