Full Job Description
Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position

The Head of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. The head of Planning & Scheduling is accountable for establishing and continuously improving the maintenance planning and scheduling function to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient execution of maintenance activities across the asset. You will provides leadership for the end-to-end work management process, from identification and prioritization of work through planning, scheduling, execution, close-out, and performance feedback. Ensures that maintenance work is sufficiently planned, properly prioritized, resource-loaded, and scheduled to enable safe and efficient execution while optimizing labour, contractor resources, materials, equipment, and maintenance windows.

Key Responsibilities:

During the Project Execution phase, the successful applicant will:
• Provide leadership for the maintenance work management system and ensure SAP/CMMS is effectively supporting maintenance execution
• Lead the Implementation of the maintenance CMS System (S4Hanna)
• Establish SAP work management standards
• Develop and maintain the site's Planning & Scheduling strategy aligned with the overall Maintenance and Asset Management strategy.
• Establish a robust maintenance planning and scheduling KPI framework.
• Develop the Planning and schedule standards and practices
• Develop appropriate KPIs and dashboards
• Ensure maintenance master data supports effective planning and scheduling
• Continuously improve work management maturity using industry best practices
• Partner with IT/SAP teams on system improvements
• Develop resource-loading strategies based on forecast maintenance demand
• Ensure contractor resources are aligned with forecast workload
• Own the health of the maintenance backlog and ensure work is properly categorized, prioritized and planned.
• Lead the development of a disciplined scheduling process that optimizes available resources.
• Support Quality Assurance of plant and equipment during project phase.
• Ensure Technical writing of Maintenance Governance Documents.
• Member of the Maintenance Team for Commissioning and Starting Up of the Facility.
• Ensure Maintenance procedures have been identified and developed for all appropriate activities under responsibility.
• Support the set-up of the Maintenance service contracts.
• Develop the long-term shutdown plan.

During the Operational phase, the successful applicant will:
• Provide planning and scheduling leadership for Turnarounds, Major Maintenance Events and other significant execution campaigns.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Warehouse and Procurement to ensure materials are available before work enters the frozen schedule.
• Support the day-to-day maintenance and reliability activities of the LNG Facility which includes monitoring performance and reliability data, implementing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
• Provide cost reports
• Analyze Maintenance effectiveness and update of maintenance strategies in the CMMS.
• Mentor and coach personnel for continuous improvement and implementation of best practices.
• Support the organization in managing the Maintenance service contracts.
• Ensure maintenance procedures, task list, work instructions are current and continuously improving.
• Ensure all maintenance planning and scheduling tools are current, effective and fit for purpose.
• Lead, coach and develop the Planning & Scheduling team
• Partner closely with Reliability Engineering to ensure reliability findings translate into executable maintenance work
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing operational risk and increasing maintenance productivity

HSSE:
• Ensure 100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines.
• Be an active HSE member of the LNG plant leadership team.
• Attend & lead HSE meetings, safety walks, and audits.
• Lead safety tours, PSSRs, audits, & safe task verification programs
• Take timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure safety of personnel and plant.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behavior in the plant.
• Initiate safe work practices within maintenance for mechanical/electrical & instrumentation works.
• Participate in PTW review teams within maintenance to improve safety for maintenance tasks.
• Assure Maintenance Systems are in place for safe execution of activities and tasks in the facility.

Other:
• Undertake travel both internationally and locally as required by company.
• Willing to relocate to Squamish
• Available for call out during plant/production upsets.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
• Interprovincial Journeyperson ticket, degree or diploma in Mech Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint, with demonstrated ability to develop data analysis, reporting, process maps, workflows, and management dashboards
• Minimum 10 -15 years in Oil & Gas Production Facilities (LNG, upgrading & Refining)
• 3-5 Years leading a planning department
• Minimum of 5 years in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
• Demonstrated experience in Equipment Strategy Development and Implementation of Maintenance systems for new Oil & Gas Facilities.
• Experience implementation a CMMS preferably SAP
• SME in CMMS (SAP)
• Previous experience in implementing Turnaround Processes and Planning
• Coordinating Shutdowns and Supervising a Shutdown Team.
