Full Job Description
Maximus is looking for a Head of Growth & Marketing.
Company: Maximus | Location: Remote (US) | Reports to: CEO | Type: Full-time, Executive
Responsibilities:
Revenue & portfolio strategy: Own the company revenue target; translate it into growth plans and budget allocation by product, persona, and channel. Partner with Finance to build the forecasting model - spend, CAC, conversion, LTV, and revenue by product line - and report against it to the CEO and leadership team.
Persona-driven acquisition: Define buyer personas for each acquisition channel and understand how conviction and intent differ by source (a research-heavy optimization buyer from community/branded search vs. a validation-seeking buyer from cold social). Treat the channel itself as a persona signal that informs everything downstream.
Creative & messaging: Own creative strategy and messaging architecture - every concept built for a specific persona and adapted natively to Meta, paid search, influencers, affiliates, and emerging channels. Run a testing discipline that links creative to funnel outcomes, not just click metrics.
Brand Marketing. Understand and tell the story of Maximus across different mediums and channels to both grow awareness and educate in a crowded and commoditized space.
Channel portfolio: Own paid media performance (budgets, agencies, optimization, measurement); scale influencer, creator, and affiliate programs into meaningful channels; diversify the mix to reduce dependence on any single platform.
Site experience & conversion: Own what happens after the click - landing experiences matched to persona and channel, messaging continuity from ad through intake to purchase, lifecycle/CRM (email, SMS), and funnel CRO. The customer should never feel the handoff.
Team leadership: Restructure the existing team and agency roster, hire key roles, and build the operating rhythm - planning, budgeting, creative reviews, reporting, and experimentation cadence. What Success Looks Like - First 12 Months
Revenue: Deliver the company revenue target through coordinated portfolio, channel, and conversion strategies
Efficiency: Materially improve CAC and funnel conversion by shipping persona-matched journeys - right creative, right landing experience, right intake flow for each buyer type
Diversification: Establish influencers, affiliates, and search as scaled, measurable acquisition channels alongside Meta
The ideal candidate will have the following:
10+ years in growth/performance marketing, including 5+ years leading teams
Proven success scaling a DTC subscription business with a high-consideration product - a premium-priced purchase requiring research and trust before buying. Commodity impulse-purchase DTC experience alone is not sufficient.
Demonstrated ownership of a revenue number, not just a media budget - you have built the model tying spend to revenue and defended it to a CEO or board
Deep hands-on fluency in paid social and paid search, plus real experience building influencer and affiliate programs
A portfolio of persona-driven creative strategy - you can articulate who a campaign was for, why the message fit, and how it performed
Experience owning post-click conversion (landing pages, funnel testing, lifecycle) and the analytical depth to back it: attribution, incrementality, cohorts, forecasting
Builder profile: has restructured or built a marketing org, hired senior channel leads, and managed agencies
Nice to Have
Telehealth, regulated health, or wellness category experience (familiarity with health-claim ad policies and compliance-constrained creative)
Experience marketing a multi-product portfolio with distinct buyer personas per product
Experience using AI tooling to multiply team output
Qualities:
High Conscientiousness: Highly effective, organized, dutiful, self-disciplined, and careful. You are the type of person who used multiple colors of highlighters, and everyone wanted to borrow notes from. You never forget a task, execute it flawlessly, and are as reliable as clockwork.
High Horsepower & Humility: High intellectual and physical energy. You eagerly solve big, complex, and ambiguous company problems, while having the humility to "roll your sleeves up" and do the dirty work without complaint.
Creative Thinker: Highly creative thinker who tends to find solutions that others don't see or inappropriately dismiss. Not content to do the safe bet everyone else takes.
Relentlessly Resourceful (http://www.paulgraham.com/relres.html): highly proactive, does not quit, and finds innovative solutions with little guidance. Bias for action and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Passion for Men's Health & Development: interest in helping men develop a healthy masculinity. Demonstrates personal dedication and interest in health optimization (e.g. diet, exercise, sleep, focus, and relationships).
World-Class Benefits:
Premium Blue Shield Platinum PPO & HMO Plans (up to 80% coverage)
Full Suite: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance
Best-in-class 401K options
Flexible vacation/time-off policies
Liquidity of options whenever available
Extended options exercise window for loyal employees (3 months for every year of service; e.g. 1 year for 4+ year employees)
