Standard Job DescriptionThe Fleet Ballistic Missile Avionics team is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Engineer who will work closely with senior engineers to develop preliminary 3D concept models of space flight avionics Cable and Harnessing and ultimately advance them for flight use.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:• Develop Cable designs, performance and test requirements
• Define the requirements and provide the framework for architecture and interface development & maintenance throughout the program lifecycle.
• Generate and release design disclosure artifacts including technical presentations and end of year reports.
• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
• Participate in iterative design reviews
• You must be able to work autonomously, delivering the work products and being accountable for milestone achievement at a high level of reporting.
To be effective in this role, you will need:• Experience with wire harness and cables design of electrical\mechanical interconnects for satellite, spacecraft equipment, and/or missile systems.
• 3+ years of professional experience.
• While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a
Secret clearance, thus
US Citizenship is required.
The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience in wire harness/cable design.
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain to obtain a Secret Clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
Desired Skills- Working knowledge EPDM tools or equivalent
- Exposure to DFx Principles (Design for Affordability, Design for Manufacturability, etc.)
- Experience with Zuken
- Experience with CREO CAD modeling
- Missile/Aerospace related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with FBM specifications/procedures
- Familiarity and experience partnering with SP/SPF Customer Partners
- Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership
- Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
- Hands-on hardware experience
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
