Full Job Description
This position will be part of an overarching project responsible for developing, testing and maintaining system-management infrastructure software and services for High Performance Computing (HPC) system. The HMD team will be responsible for creating and delivering functionality and capabilities used to test, monitor, and validate a system-management solution.
Hardware Engineer Responsibilities
• Understand what telemetry is useful and what constitutes a healthy system in order to directly improve upon the system monitoring and dashboards used to monitor the system in support of contractual and programmatic test events.
• Create diagnostic tests that aid in the issue triage and root-cause diagnosis of a system solution.
• Interpret hardware specs, datasheets, and documentation to determine indicators of health
• Determine which metrics indicate health and status of the component, and how to collect the metrics
• Collaborate with troubleshooters/diagnosticians to identify indicators of health
• Create and update the definition of health in a structured format to be ingested into the monitoring infrastructure
• Review Health definitions displayed in dashboards.
• Develop prototype / proof-of-concept code for telemetry collection.
• Create diagnosis and validation tests for the system solution.
• Actively participate and collaborate in the team's agile ceremonies.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum twenty (20) years' experience analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions is required. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information System, Mathematics or similar degree is required. Five (5) years of hardware experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with health and monitoring
• Ability to understand detailed hardware documentation, data sheets, and schematics
• Strong experience with Linux
• Experience with Git and version-control branching practices and merge strategies
• Experience and willingness to lean in areas such as: Network, Servers, Storage, PDUs (power), CDUs (cooling), PCIe, Custom Architectures.
• JSON familiarity.

Salary Range: $220,000 - $289,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, BCT-LLC considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
