About the RoleA fast-moving, early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure company is hiring a
GTM Engineer to own its entire US presence and community from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, one-person outpost role reporting directly to the founding team - you'll be the face of the company in the San Francisco AI infrastructure scene, turning authentic technical relationships into a thriving community and measurable pipeline.
The company builds an open-source platform for orchestrating ML pipelines and AI agent workflows across any cloud or tool stack - a product that resonates deeply with ML engineers and MLOps practitioners. You'll operate at the intersection of developer relations, community building, and modern GTM systems.
What You'll Do- Own and run the SF developer community from zero - including hosting a regular meetup series that becomes the go-to event for the ML infrastructure crowd.
- Represent the company at AI/ML meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Bay Area, building a visible personal brand and network.
- Be the connector - the person who knows everyone, brings people together, and turns community momentum into business outcomes.
- Evangelize credibly through talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos grounded in real community insights.
- Demo a Python-based open-source framework live in front of technical audiences; hold your own with ML engineers on real questions.
- Instrument community and product signals (e.g. Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, enrichment tools like Clay) into an automated GTM flow - enrichment, scoring, follow-up - so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline.
- Serve as the eyes and ears in the Valley: surface what people are building, what frustrates them, and who's evaluating what - and feed that intelligence directly into product and GTM strategy.
What We're Looking ForRequired:- 1-3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM roles, with demonstrated experience hosting events and converting attendee engagement into measurable business outcomes.
- Technical enough to demo and explain a Python framework live, read and understand code, work with APIs, and communicate technical concepts clearly to ML engineers.
- Proven track record of building and scaling developer communities or technical event series from zero.
- Proficiency with modern GTM stack tools: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (Clay or similar), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.
- Experience instrumenting community/event initiatives using product analytics (Mixpanel or similar), GitHub signals, and CRM data to track pipeline and ROI.
- Ability to create and distribute technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social media) that resonates with developer audiences.
- Experience converting manual, one-off community activities into repeatable, scalable, and measurable systems.
- Comfort working in early-stage, scrappy startup environments with a high degree of autonomy.
Nice to Have:- Existing professional network within the San Francisco AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community.
- Prior experience contributing to or building open-source communities; fluency with GitHub-native developer behaviors.
- Familiarity with the MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure landscape.
- Experience running product-led growth (PLG) or usage-based GTM motions.
- Visible personal brand with public speaking experience, conference talks, or recognizable community presence.
Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $120,000 - $250,000 annually (USD), depending on experience.
- Direct access to founders and meaningful strategic ownership of the US GTM motion.
- Opportunity to build a category-defining community in one of the most active AI infrastructure scenes in the world.
