Full Job Description
Role: The Group Revenue Manager (GRM) is responsible for maximizing group revenue and profitability through strategic evaluation, pricing, and management of all contracted block business and long-term displacement opportunities. This role partners closely with Sales, Catering, and Event Management to drive optimal business decisions across all group segments.Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in revenue management, group sales, or hotel analytics, preferably in a full-service or luxury property.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
    • Advanced knowledge of revenue management systems and Excel
    • Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Required:
    • Experience evaluating group business and displacement analysis
    • Knowledge of Marriott reservation systems and revenue strategies

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

Group Revenue Optimization

  • Drive maximum profitability across all group segments, including meetings & events, corporate, SMERF, association, tour series, convention, sports, crew, and social/wedding business
  • Evaluate RFPs and develop strategic pricing recommendations
  • Perform displacement analysis and assess total account value
  • Provide data-driven accept/decline recommendations aligned with overall revenue strategy


Function Space Optimization

  • Partner with Catering & Events to optimize ballroom and meeting space utilization
  • Ensure profitability through effective use of catering minimums and space-to-room ratio management


Group Wash & Pickup Management

  • Monitor block performance, including utilization, attrition, and cutoff adherence
  • Analyze wash and slippage trends and execute re-sell strategies to recover unused inventory


Long-Range Forecasting

  • Conduct 12-24-month pace and demand analysis to identify need periods
  • Evaluate compression patterns and develop forward-looking group mix strategies


Contract & Inventory Controls

  • Protect inventory through strategic rate, availability, and inventory controls
  • Optimize shoulder dates and peak night production
  • Evaluate concessions and recommend blackout dates to support profitability


Market Segment Ownership

  • Own strategy, production, and performance for the following segments:
  • Corporate groups
  • Association
  • Convention
  • SMERF
  • Tour & travel
  • Sports
  • Social and wedding groups


Collaboration

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Catering & Events, Event Management, DOSM, and the Director of Revenue to ensure alignment and execution of strategies


Performance Metrics (KPIs)

  • Group ADR

  • Total revenue contribution
  • Function space utilization

Work is performed in a (type of location, i.e., office, kitchen, restaurant, casino, etc.) environment and in other locations throughout the property. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.
