Group Leader, BioChemical Analysis
Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Group Leader, BioChemical Analysis to join our team. In this role, you will manage a sub-team of junior scientists and act as a technical expert on projects. You will serve as a liaison between your team and cross-functional groups, mentor associates, and support client audits and visits. This position plays a key role in analytical activities for Biopharma product development under cGMP regulatory guidance for large molecules and biologics.
Shift: Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Location: Kansas City, MO
100% Onsite
The Role
Responsible for method development, evaluation, transfers, verifications, qualifications, validations, stability studies, and ad hoc sample testing.
Plan, prioritize, organize, and execute analytical work in accordance with client contracts and technical agreements.
Support Project Technical Lead as required, maintaining project timelines and budgets.
Ensure integrity and quality of analytical data by adherence to in-house and client SOPs and GMP requirements.
Communicate effectively with clients, auditors, peers, and directors to ensure smooth project execution.
Carry out performance reviews and HR activities such as time entry approval, PTO approval, and salary adjustments in line with company policy.
Identify and implement new technologies with an understanding of their impact on Catalent offerings.
All other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree with more than 4 years of relevant experience in department-specific techniques or based on performance at Catalent, OR
Masters degree with more than 2 years of relevant experience in department-specific techniques or based on performance at Catalent, OR
Doctorate degree with more than 1 year of relevant experience in department-specific techniques or based on performance at Catalent
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift, pull or push 0-40 pounds.
Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalentsponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
Preferred Skills & Background
Knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry, with broad knowledge in other areas.
In-depth knowledge in instrumentation, theory, data interpretation, and applications in at least one technical area, with ability to assess new technologies and their impact on Catalent offerings.
Familiarity with most aspects of drug development and lifecycle support, and ability to develop strategies to meet regulatory milestones.
Strong project management skills for multiple concurrent projects of moderate to high complexity.
High personal credibility, strong motivation skills, and experience in team development.
Ability to lead by example in alignment with Catalents values and culture.
