This job is responsible for maximizing opportunities, and minimizing credit, and operating losses within a large and complex business unit or function. Key responsibilities include driving the development and translation of complex data sets to produce information for internal and external reporting needs. Job expectations include effectively leading information and insights which have significant regulatory impact, financial accountability, and direct impact to business policies and goals in an effective manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Drives the development and execution of reporting to allow risk and business partners to effectively enhance revenue goals, processes, efficiencies and technologies while minimizing associated risks
  • Oversees data design, portfolio trends, loss trends, and portfolio dynamics to ensure alignment with business strategies
  • Sets strategic priorities and owns initiatives affecting multiple risk functions and lines of business to ensure company goals are met
  • Leads database production processes and performance reports for senior management, using data mining and other advanced analytical techniques to aggregate data
  • Owns the overall response to complex ad-hoc requests for information from both internal and external parties
  • Leverages knowledge of end-to-end processes, related regulations, and multi system platforms, often involving multiple products/portfolios, to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitors the outputs of controls and ensures alerts from the control checks are managed effectively

Global Risk Management (GRM) leads bank-wide initiatives for the management of all aspects of risk, including strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, model, and reputational risk, helping support sustainable and responsible growth across the enterprise. As data continues to become a strategic asset and a critical component of regulatory and risk management outcomes, GRM has established the Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function to drive the transparency, quality, accessibility, sustainability, and effective use of risk data across the organization. Working in close partnership with Enterprise Data, Technology, Front Line Units (FLUs), and Control Functions (CFs), DSM is responsible for advancing GRM's data strategy, enabling sustainable data capabilities, and accelerating adoption of enterprise solutions that improve risk management, operational efficiency, and regulatory defensibility.

The GRM Data Strategy, Engagement & Communications Executive will report to the GRM Data Strategy & Management Executive (DSME) and serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner, helping translate GRM's data priorities into actionable strategy, coordinated execution, and measurable business outcomes. This role provides a unique opportunity to shape and communicate GRM's data agenda, influence enterprise stakeholders, coordinate strategic priorities, and drive alignment across business, risk, technology, and data organizations.

Position Summary:
The GRM Data Strategy, Engagement & Communications Executive serves as a strategic advisor and key partner to the GRM Data Strategy & Management Executive (DSME), helping translate GRM's data priorities into actionable strategy, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
This role is responsible for driving strategic planning, executive communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational alignment across GRM's data agenda. Working closely with senior leaders across Risk, Technology, Enterprise Data, Front Line Units (FLUs), and Control Functions (CFs), the executive will help shape priorities, coordinate investments, communicate progress, and accelerate execution of GRM's strategic data objectives. The role combines strategy development, planning, communications, engagement, and organizational leadership to ensure GRM's data priorities are clearly articulated, broadly understood, effectively funded, and consistently executed across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development & Operationalization
  • Partner with the DSME and senior leadership to define, refine, and operationalize GRM's data strategy and strategic priorities.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps, execution plans, operating routines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Support prioritization of initiatives and investments to ensure alignment with business, risk, regulatory, and technology objectives.

Executive Communications & Storytelling
  • Develop and lead communications supporting GRM's data strategy, priorities, progress, and outcomes.
  • Prepare executive presentations, leadership updates, briefing materials, and strategic messaging for the GRM Senior Leadership Team and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data, technology, operating model, and regulatory topics into clear, compelling executive narratives and business outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Enterprise Alignment
  • Build strong partnerships across GRM, Enterprise Data, Technology, FLUs, CFs, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Audit.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to advance strategic priorities and resolve cross-functional challenges.
  • Facilitate leadership discussions and enterprise forums to accelerate progress on strategic initiatives and shared priorities.

Data Strategy Planning & Operating Routines
  • Establish and coordinate data strategy forums, leadership reviews, strategic planning processes, and operating rhythms supporting GRM's data agenda.
  • Lead strategic planning, funding, investment management, and resource prioritization activities across the portfolio of data initiatives.
  • Monitor execution against strategic commitments and help ensure leadership decisions are effectively communicated and implemented.

Data Community Engagement & Evangelization
  • Foster a strong data culture across GRM by promoting awareness, education, collaboration, and adoption of strategic data capabilities.
  • Champion GRM's data strategy, standards, services, tools, and enterprise solutions across business and technology organizations.
  • Lead engagement programs that connect stakeholders, showcase business value, and promote reuse of enterprise capabilities and best practices.

Metrics, Reporting & Value Realization
  • Develop and oversee executive reporting, performance metrics, and scorecards to measure progress against strategic objectives.
  • Monitor adoption, business outcomes, operational efficiencies, and value realization across strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership insights and recommendations to support decision-making, transparency, and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science / engineering, Data Science or Analytics
  • 15+ years of experience in data management, risk management, analytics, technology, or enterprise transformation within a large, regulated financial institution.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across multiple organizations with competing priorities.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise data strategy, data governance, data quality, metadata management, lineage, controls, and information management.
  • Experience establishing accountability frameworks and governance structures that improve transparency, traceability, and data health.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and regulatory expectations related to data governance and risk information management.
  • Experience leading large-scale data strategy and transformation initiatives, projects or projects partnering with regulatory, audit, compliance, and control functions.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies, data architecture, cloud-based platforms, and enterprise technology strategies.
  • Experience identifying and delivering material cost efficiencies through standardization, automation, simplification, and technology consolidation.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting enterprise risk, regulatory reporting, capital management, or risk data aggregation and reporting initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, SAS, data analytics tools, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide data modernization programs supporting large-scale business transformation.

$175,000.00 - $254,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
