BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Education Cluster (EC), University of the District of Columbia (UDC). The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the administration of federal and private grants/contracts; documenting standardized grants management business processes and procedures and developing training curricula. Duties include, but are not limited to: identifying key controls throughout the grant management life cycle, and developing feasible action plans for improvements; establishing and maintaining effective internal controls to ensure compliance with Federal statutes, regulations, and terms and conditions of Federal awards; conducting post-award grants business process reviews and analyses to identify management, financial, and administrative issues; reviewing and maintaining communication with all sub-grantees; planning and conducting internal operational audits to identify control weaknesses and recommend solutions accordingly; designing and implementing indirect cost rate proposals, cost allocation plans, and ensure indirect costs billed to federal grants are allowable in accordance with requirements; ensuring maintenance of an accurate federally sponsored accounting program; providing monthly, quarterly, and annual performance and compliance reports to the Associate Chief Financial Officer and other key personnel as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of progressive experience performing related duties such as coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the administration of grant programs; monitoring compliance with applicable federal or local grant requirements; assisting with and reviewing grant budgets; participating in the development or improvement of grants management procedures or reporting processes; and providing guidance to internal or external stakeholders on grant requirements and allowable use of funds.

Specialized Experience

Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
