Full Job Description
WE'LL TRUST YOU TO:
  • Work with senior executives and multiple stakeholders within Bloomberg to identify target government outreach for Bloomberg's annual Global Forums, Summits, and year-round convenings.
  • Research, invite and manage outreach to public sector officials by maintaining a robust (and ever changing database) of current government sector leaders
  • Develop relationships with government offices - including embassies, high commissions, multilateral agencies, and the offices of cabinet officials and ministers - to communicate the value of Bloomberg's global events and platform to their key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with the internal Bloomberg government affairs teams to maximize internal relationships with government officials to ensure participation
  • Work closely with the our editorial team and the Associate Editor and Head of State/Government Coordinator to coordinate speaking invitations, manage protocol details, registration completion, and credentialing, and identify custom onsite engagement opportunities
  • Create custom itineraries for government officials highlighting onsite engagement opportunities and outlining important, high-level logistical details
  • Be responsible for the RSVP management of designated government audience segment including real time database updates
  • Provide weekly reports to Managing Director on government outreach status
  • Manage delegate/delegation experience pre-event, on-site and post-event; in alignment with Head of Protocol
  • Develop protocol ticktocks and facebooks for each event for internal use throughout Bloomberg, aligning information with confirmed delegate schedules and registrations
  • Engage in discussions with delegates in real time noting recurring themes, troubleshooting, and elevating insights and issues to stakeholders;
  • Be tech-savvy, with the ability to multitask, handle volumes of information and work under timelines across different aspects of the business
  • Ensure government delegate participation is maximized across global Bloomberg events
  • Maintain and develop new relationships with government sector leaders and their teams
YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years experience in government and/or community relations with general knowledge of all levels of government
  • Superior attention to detail and exceptional organizational
  • Impeccable writing skills with an awareness of honorifics and protocol for communicating with government leaders and their staff
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willing to travel internationally to attend convenings
  • Ability to work outside standard business hours - including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as needed
  • Ability to manage difficult situations with calm and courtesy with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • A collaborative and positive "can-do" approach to your work
