Government & Infrastructure - Data Analytics and Transformation Execution - Manager

The opportunity

The Government & Infrastructure (G&I) practice of Ernst & Young LLP helps federal, state, local and education-sector clients strengthen operations, deliver essential services and achieve mission outcomes. Our multidisciplinary teams combine industry knowledge, analytical insight and leading practices to address complex public-sector challenges.

As a Manager in Transformation Execution, you will lead engagements that use data and analytics to improve program performance and support informed decision-making.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead analytics engagements for government clients, overseeing scope, schedule, communications, risk, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets using quantitative, qualitative and root-cause techniques to identify trends, anomalies, risks, opportunities and performance drivers.
  • Create dashboards, visualizations and reports with business intelligence tools, and automate manual reporting processes.
  • Translate findings into executive-ready presentations, briefings and recommendations that inform operational and program decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, metrics and key performance indicators and maintain the integrity of analytical products.
  • Direct engagement delivery, financial performance, technical execution and service development in accordance with EY methodologies and standards.
  • Build relationships that strengthen client service, support proposals and generate business opportunities.
  • Recruit, coach and develop high-performing teams while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in data analytics, statistics, economics, information systems, business or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in data analytics, reporting or business intelligence, including experience leading teams and complex client engagements.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and analytical tools within large-scale data environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Tableau or comparable dashboard and visualization platforms.
  • Experience with trend, variance, benchmarking, gap and root-cause analysis; data validation; requirements gathering; KPI development; and reporting automation.
  • Knowledge of transformation and project management disciplines, including financial controls, scheduling, resource planning, workflow optimization, organizational change and process improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing and presenting materials for executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage concurrent analytical and delivery commitments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • A valid US driver's license and passport.
  • Work may be required at client, EY or contractor sites.


Ideally, you'll also have

  • Experience supporting federal clients or government programs.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, Databricks or comparable advanced analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL architecture, scalable reporting solutions and data governance.
  • Advanced data storytelling and familiarity with performance-management frameworks and enterprise metrics.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
    • New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices - $154,000 to $256,700
    • Bay Area California offices - $160,500 to $267,400
    • All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $128,400 to $235,300
  • Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
