About This Role:

Crusoe is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join as GRC Counsel, Risk and Compliance in the Legal Department. This role is integral to the continued development and day-to-day execution of Crusoe's global compliance program as we grow and expand internationally.

Reporting to the Global Risk & Compliance Officer, you will support the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing operation of our governance, risk and compliance infrastructure across key risk areas. You will also contribute to our evolving approach to the compliance landscape of artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented legal professional who can translate regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance at the intersection of AI, energy, and global commerce.

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Program Enhancement & Strategy: Support the continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide governance, risk and compliance program. Assist with the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and GRC platforms.
  • Policy and Governance: Lead the review, harmonization, and simplification of global enterprise-wide policies and procedures to ensure clarity, scalability, and compliance across the US and internationally.
  • Compliance Management: Manage compliance and risk tools, including the corporate hotline, training and ERM.
  • International Trade Compliance: Support programs for global sanctions (OFAC, UK, EU), export controls (EAR), and import regulations related to our hardware and service supply chain.
  • Anti-Corruption & AML: Assist with our FCPA/anti-bribery program, including third-party due diligence (KYC/KYB), risk assessments, and internal reviews.
  • Employment and People Team: Assist People team with policy management, employee relations advice, global mobility/immigration, background checks, employment related litigation and employee related compliance program elements.
  • Government Affairs/ESG: Collaborate with the Government Affairs and ESG teams to advise on the evolving regulatory landscape.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with Finance, Procurement, HR, and Engineering and our various business units to provide practical compliance and risk guidance and support employment or litigation matters as needed.


What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Education & Bar: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Experience: 7-12 years of legal experience with a meaningful focus on compliance. In-house exposure at a technology, industrial, or energy company is preferred.
  • Domain Expertise: Solid foundational knowledge in international governance, risk and compliance.
  • AI/ML Fluency: Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations surrounding AI technologies, including bias, data provenance, and transparency.
  • Communication: Strong ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders.


Bonus Points:
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CCEP, CAMS, or CIPP.
  • Experience with or exposure to GRC/ERM software platforms.
  • Experience in the technology, energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $204,000 -$255,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
