Job Summary
We are seeking a Golang Software Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team and support the development of modern, scalable microservices that power enterprise loyalty and benefits platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building high-performance Go applications, REST APIs, and event-driven microservices while contributing to platform modernization, scalability, resiliency, and cloud-native application development.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Go-based APIs and microservices supporting REST and gRPC interfaces.
• Build highly available, high-performance services capable of handling high-volume event ingestion and processing.
• Develop and enhance core platform components to improve scalability, resiliency, observability, and overall system performance.
• Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, and Grafana.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into secure and scalable technical solutions.
• Integrate applications with relational databases, NoSQL databases, SOAP services, and asynchronous messaging platforms such as Kafka.
• Develop and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support to ensure platform stability and reliability.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-8 years of professional software engineering experience with Golang.
• Strong experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise software applications.
• Hands-on experience building high-volume REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience developing event-driven microservices and working with gRPC.
• Experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging platforms such as Kafka.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployment.
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools and DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing enterprise services using Golang.
• Knowledge of financial services, loyalty, or rewards platforms.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience implementing observability solutions using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, and Grafana.
• Experience working with high-availability, cloud-native, distributed systems.
