Job DescriptionAUMOVIO is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GM Resident Engineer to join our technical team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will serve as an on-site engineering resource, providing technical expertise and support to our manufacturing and production operations. As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing complex automotive systems, identifying solutions to engineering challenges, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Provide on-site technical engineering support to manufacturing facilities and production teams
- GM Tech Center (30001 Van Dyke, Warren, MI)
- GM Proving Grounds (3300 General Motors Rd, Milford, MI)
- Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and develop effective corrective action plans
- Analyze automotive systems, components, and processes using engineering tools and methodologies
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and design teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize operations
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and engineering analyses
- Monitor compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Support process improvement initiatives and implement engineering solutions
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations
- Maintain organized records of engineering data, test results, and project documentation
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site production environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Additional Ways To Stand Out - Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes
- Experience with GM manufacturing processes and quality standards

- Experience with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
