The Marketing Automation Expert is responsible for designing, deploying and continuously optimizing CRM campaigns, automated customer journeys and related activation content that support customer acquisition, engagement, conversion and retention objectives.

Reporting to the CRM & Marketing Automation Manager within the Global Marketing Activation team, and working in close collaboration with the Audience Marketing Cloud Specialist, this role, based in the US, transforms CRM strategies into scalable, data-driven activation programs across multiple channels and markets.

The role acts as the subject matter expert for marketing automation platforms and customer journey orchestration, ensuring best practices, operational excellence and continuous performance improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build and deploy CRM campaigns and marketing automation programs
  • Configure, test and deploy CRM campaigns and automated workflows in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or equivalent platforms.
  • Ensure reliable execution of campaigns, data flows, triggers and automation processes.
  • Apply strong quality-control standards to secure timely and accurate campaign delivery.
  • Troubleshoot automation issues with technical teams (DDVC) when required.

2. Activate customer journeys
  • Translate CRM priorities, audience insights and journey objectives into concrete customer journey scenarios and content needs.
  • Build automated journeys across key lifecycle moments: acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention and reactivation.
  • Define operational journey logic, triggers, personalization rules and channel orchestration.
  • Maintain reusable journey templates and automation frameworks.

3. Develop CRM campaign content and activation assets
  • Contribute to the global CRM activation calendar, under the guidance of the CRM & Marketing Automation Manager, by translating defined priorities and themes into operational campaign deliverables.
  • Draft, adapt or coordinate the production of CRM content, including emails, messages, briefs and content variations, either directly or with external agencies.
  • Ensure campaign content is engaging, customer-centric, aligned with brand guidelines and adapted to the targeted audience, journey stage and business objective.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and internal stakeholders to secure timely delivery of content assets required for CRM campaigns and automated journeys.

4. Support Business Areas
  • Support Business Areas and local marketing teams in deploying CRM activations in line with global standards.
  • Provide hands-on guidance on campaign setup, journey implementation and automation best practices.
  • Adapt central templates, playbooks and frameworks to facilitate scalable deployment.
  • Coordinate internal contributors and external agencies involved in campaign production and content adaptation.

5. Optimize performance
  • Monitor CRM campaign and journey performance.
  • Identify optimization opportunities based on results and customer behavior.
  • Contribute to A/B testing and test-and-learn initiatives.
  • Share learnings and recommendations to improve execution quality and CRM maturity.


Qualifications

Must-have
  • Hands-on experience in CRM activation, marketing automation or lifecycle marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud or an equivalent marketing automation platform.
  • Ability to build, test and deploy automated customer journeys and CRM campaigns.
  • Ability to translate CRM priorities into campaign content, operational briefs and activation assets, either directly or in coordination with external agencies.
  • Solid understanding of triggers, segmentation, personalization and campaign orchestration.
  • Strong execution discipline, attention to detail and quality-control mindset.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across Business Areas, DDVC, Strategic Programs and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to translate performance results into concrete optimization actions.
  • Experience in an international or multi-market organization.

Nice-to-have
  • Experience coordinating external CRM, content or marketing automation agencies for campaign production and content adaptation.
  • Knowledge of CRM data structures and audience management.
  • Experience with SMS, push notifications or omnichannel orchestration.
  • Experience creating playbooks, templates or operational guidelines.

PROFILE
  • Typically 5 to 7 years of experience in CRM activation, marketing automation or lifecycle marketing, ideally in a BtoBtoC environment with complex customer targets and indirect distribution channels.

Additional Information

Salary Range
  • $120,000-$130,000 annual salary, plus 5% bonus target
