Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in supplier management or sourcing.
  • Experience with supplier management in the compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure space.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or MBA in a technical or engineering field.
  • Experience working for or with a global contract manufacturer, OEM, or hyperscale company.
  • Experience with new product development environments (e.g., schedule, cost, urgency, etc.).
  • Experience managing CM partners for PCBA's and systems including cost models.
  • Ability to manage suppliers in new product introduction and sustaining environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate internally and externally.

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

This team owns the selection, negotiation and management of our Commodity/Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners and ensuring alignment to Google Cloud's product roadmap. We are involved in the full product life cycle from the start of NPI through sustaining and End of life (EOL) of a product.

As a Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, you will manage global contract manufacturers (CM)/Original Device Manufacturers (ODMs) as a key relationship owner. You will be focused in a given space and work closely with product development teams and engineers to drive suppliers to deliver on cost and schedule commitments. You will be a key part of an end-to-end technical supply chain team that drives continuous improvement and ensures operational excellence in support of Google's rapid growth.

In this role, you are responsible for the commercial and operations management of Google Cloud's Contract Manufacturing and Joint Design Manufacturing (JDM) partners that build server, storage, networking and ML infrastructure. You will develop and enable partners that can align to our future needs around hardware and software development as well as an advanced manufacturing global footprint.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) 15% bonus target bonus equity benefits
