Full Job Description
Role Summary:

We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Global Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager to own and operate our global shipping operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the international and domestic shipment of our robotic systems. The ideal candidate will be an expert in global logistics, freight management, and adept at navigating the complexities of international trade regulations. You will bring structure to our shipping processes, ensure compliance with all export laws, and drive alignment between our production and operational teams to guarantee timely and successful delivery of our products. This position is based in Seattle, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end execution of all international and domestic shipping operations, ensuring contractual, regulatory, and operational success.
  • Serve as the primary authority on global logistics, managing all aspects of international shipping, including export documentation, freight forwarder negotiation, and customs clearance.
  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, IATA, and 49CFR, with a specific focus on high-value electronics and hazardous materials (e.g., lithium-ion batteries).
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, negotiating rates and ensuring performance meets company standards.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for global logistics to improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, manufacturing, field and sales teams to coordinate shipment schedules with production output and customer delivery requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics and trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end international shipments and preparing all required export documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. export regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR) and international shipping standards (e.g., IATA, 49CFR).
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems for generating shipping orders and documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in export compliance (e.g., Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer, ECoP®) or logistics (e.g., CSCP).
  • Experience shipping high-value robotics, autonomous systems, or products containing hazardous materials.
  • Direct experience managing and negotiating with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced start-up or growth-scaling environment.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • Availability to work onsite in Seattle, WA
