In this vital role the Obesity Intelligence & Analytics (OIA) Global Commercial Insights Senior Manager will drive commercial insights that shape strategy and key decisions for Amgen's obesity pipeline. This involves generating insights by integrating a myriad of sources that may include (but not limited to) internal knowledge, strategic secondary analytics and primary market research.
The individual in this role is a collaborative business partner that can influence the commercial view for product strategy, brand building, and decisions for internal governance. They are a passionate champion of insights-driven strategy and grounded in objective decision-making. Given the dynamic nature of pipeline programs, the individual in this role can bring an adaptive approach and has a willingness to solve ambiguous problems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end primary market research workstreams for the Obesity Business Unit, including scoping business questions, partnering with agencies, managing timelines and deliverables, and translating results to inform stakeholders
- Synthesize research, secondary analytics, and competitive insights into concise leadership readouts that inform brand strategy, pipeline planning, and cross-functional decision-making
- Integrate insights from a variety of sources (e.g., market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, advisory boards) to address business needs
- Present findings and recommendations across a variety of audiences and forums
This position reports to a Global Insights Director within OIA and will work day-to-day with global partners including Marketing, Value & Access, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, and other cross-functional partners as needed.

Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 2 years of primary market research, management consulting and/or strategic insights generation experience
Or
Master's degree and 4 years of primary market research, management consulting and/or strategic insights generation experience
Or
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of primary market research, management consulting and/or strategic insights generation experience
Or
Associate's degree and 10 years of primary market research, management consulting and/or strategic insights generation experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of primary market research, management consulting and/or strategic insights generation experience
Preferred Qualifications:- Ability to independently extract, evaluate and synthesize data and information from a variety of sources with rigor and accuracy
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and drug commercialization
- Experience leading primary market research
- Ability to think strategically, provide actionable recommendations, and influence key decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively and adaptively in team-based, cross-functional environments
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects in parallel
- Experience with commonly used biopharmaceutical industry datasets and databases

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
