Full Job Description
A rapidly growing, privately held global advanced manufacturing company is seeking a Global Controller to lead and strengthen its worldwide accounting organization.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a hands-on accounting executive who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build teams, improve processes, and create scalable financial infrastructure. The company operates internationally, supports sophisticated technology-driven markets, and is continuing to expand its global footprint.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Global Controller will own global accounting operations, financial reporting, audit activities, cost accounting, and the internal control environment. This leader will also partner closely with executive and operational leadership to improve financial visibility, strengthen business performance, and support strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global accounting operations, including month-end close, consolidation, financial statement preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit, and sales tax processes.
  • Establish clear accountability, strong controls, and consistent execution across domestic and international accounting teams.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing global accounting organization.
  • Create performance standards, strengthen succession planning, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the organization's technical accounting leader, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS requirements where applicable.
  • Lead external audit activities and continuously strengthen the company's internal control environment.
  • Standardize, automate, and scale global accounting processes to support continued growth.
  • Provide governance and leadership around the company's ERP environment, including Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Improve working capital performance and create greater discipline around cash flow and the cash conversion cycle.
  • Lead cost accounting, inventory governance, and management reporting across manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Provide actionable insight into product margins, overhead rates, work in process, cost of goods sold, inventory performance, and operational variances.
  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, acquisition diligence, post-acquisition integration, and other growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate tax accounting matters and relationships with external tax and professional-services advisors.
  • Perform additional leadership responsibilities as required.
Required Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, CMA, or comparable professional accounting credential.
  • At least 12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Recent leadership experience at the Controller, Corporate Controller, Divisional Controller, or comparable level.
  • Experience leading global accounting, financial close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and strong technical accounting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success building, developing, and retaining high-performing accounting teams.
  • Proven ability to improve financial processes, systems, internal controls, and reporting within a growing or complex organization.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
Preferred Experience
  • ERP implementation, integration, or optimization experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience operating within a multi-entity and multi-currency global environment.
  • Manufacturing or distribution industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, overhead allocation, WIP, COGS, and variance analysis.
  • Tax accounting experience and experience coordinating with external advisors.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, business integrations, or international expansion.
