Global Billing & Collections Director

Drive global billing and collections excellence through modernization, consistency, and superior client service.
This critical role calls for a global leader with deep experience in billing, collections, finance operations, shared services, and transformation. Working closely with Regional CFOs, Global Service Centers, Finance leaders, in-market teams, Technology, and senior stakeholders, this leader will modernize the function, enhance technology and automation, establish consistent global standards, and support operational effectiveness across the Firm.
The role in action:- Lead global Billings & Collections strategy, operations, standards, and delivery
- Oversee billing, e-billing, rates, collections, cash application, and client support
- Modernize the function through process improvement, automation, technology, analytics, and AI
- Partner with Finance, Global Service Centers, Technology, and local teams to drive consistent standards
- Improve client service through clearer, faster, and more accurate billing processes
- Manage, develop and engage a globally dispersed team, building capability, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement
Candidate qualifications:- Senior experience leading billing, collections, finance operations, or shared services in a global services organization, preferably in a law firm or partnership environment
- Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes, systems, controls, technology, and service delivery
- Proven ability to lead large, global teams and work effectively in a matrixed environment
- Experience driving process improvement, technology adoption, automation, and change in a complex business
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, data-driven decision-making, and client-service skills
Pay Transparency - This position is bonus eligible and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) based on the number of hours worked.
- If located in an office in one of the states below, the US base compensation for this position is expected to be in the range listed. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
New York - $307,000 - $370,000
California - $301,000-398,000
Illinois (Chicago only) - $290,000 - $350,000
Washington DC - $305,000 - $364,000
