We are seeking a GIS Data Analyst who is passionate about geospatial technologies and transforming data into actionable insights that support construction projects and business operations. Working within the VDC, Digital Construction, or Innovation team, this individual will play a key role in GIS data management, spatial analysis, workflow automation, and BIM/VDC-GIS integration. Their expertise will help improve project planning, coordination, decision-making, and overall project performance.
What you will do
• Create, structure, maintain, and analyze geospatial datasets to support project and corporate needs.
• Validate, clean, transform, and integrate spatial and non-spatial data from multiple sources.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, quality, and documentation in accordance with internal standards.
• Contribute to the administration and enhancement of geodatabases and enterprise spatial data environments.
• Develop maps, dashboards, web applications, and spatial analysis products to support proposals, project execution, and decision-making.
• Perform analyses related to site constraints, logistics, assets, quantities, environmental data, and other construction-related spatial information.
• Develop and maintain automated tools, scripts, and workflows using Python, FME, and ArcGIS technologies.
• Configure and optimize field data collection solutions such as ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and similar platforms.
• Support the development and maintenance of Web GIS applications, dashboards, and data pipelines that improve efficiency and data reliability.
• Collaborate with BIM, VDC, and project teams to integrate geospatial information, 2D/3D models, and construction data into cohesive project workflows.
• Contribute to standards, best practices, and processes related to GIS, BIM, and Digital Construction integration.
• Support project teams and internal stakeholders in adopting GIS tools, workflows, and geospatial solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, user guides, reusable templates, and training materials.
• Conduct technology research and contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of GIS practices across the organization.
This role could be for you if you have
• University degree or college diploma in Geomatics, Geography, GIS, Environmental Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with the Esri ecosystem, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, Web Maps, Dashboards, and Field Applications.
• Experience with FME Form, FME Flow, or equivalent ETL and data automation tools.
• Working knowledge of spatial databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Experience developing, maintaining, or troubleshooting scripts, preferably in Python; experience with JavaScript or ArcGIS Maps SDK is considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both project teams and business stakeholders.
• A strong focus on data quality, documentation, and repeatable processes.
Assets
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, building, or project delivery environments.
• Exposure to BIM, VDC, 3D models, reality capture, LiDAR, drone data, or digital construction coordination workflows.
• Experience developing dashboards, operational reporting tools, or business intelligence-style analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of information management principles, metadata standards, naming conventions, and ISO 19650-inspired practices.
• Experience with cloud-hosted GIS platforms, enterprise portals, permissions management, and data governance.
