This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Position Summary:

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst/Developer to join our team supporting Misssle Defense Agency (MDA). In this role, The GIS Analyst/Developer provides technical geospatial support across engineering and program operations in support of Missile Defense Agency Facility Life Cycle Management. This position performs advanced spatial analyses, develops and maintains spatial and relational databases, and produces geospatial products that support program execution. The role requires application of established GIS principles, tools, and techniques, as well as coordination with internal and external stakeholders to address complex technical issues. This position contributes directly to the facility management program objectives and deliverables.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, analyzes, and develops geospatial solutions and product specifications for infrastructure, hydrographic, and physiographic features in support of global geospatial image and vector products.
  • Performs GIS analyses on natural resources and environmental datasets to support engineering, operations, and program requirements.
  • Plans, designs, develops, documents, and analyzes both spatial and relational databases.
  • Utilizes GIS software to manage, integrate, and analyze spatial and tabular data associated with program activities.
  • Builds, updates, and maintains geospatial databases using all available data-capture tools and methods.
  • Produces geospatial map products, dashboards, and visualizations that accurately represent underlying data that meet program specifications.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and integrates external GIS data sources into enterprise datasets.
  • Performs data QC/QA and ensures metadata compliance with organizational and technical standards.
  • Develops automated geoprocessing workflows using Python, ModelBuilder, or other approved tools to enhance productivity and repeatability and external applications to support the program.
  • Supports integration of GIS capabilities with other enterprise systems, analytical tools, and engineering workflows.
  • Provides geospatial technical support and engages with internal teams and external customers regarding complex or unique technical challenges.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Preferred: BA/BS degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • MA/MS in any field may be substituted for 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and wide application of geospatial technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • General knowledge of related disciplines including environmental science, remote sensing, data engineering, or surveying.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, spatial analysis tools, and standard desktop software (databases, spreadsheets, graphics, word processing).
  • Knowledge of programming languages should include C, C#, HTML, ASP.NET, and Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to represents the engineering organization in inter organizational and customer discussions to resolve technical issues.
  • Secret Clearance with US DOW required at hire.


Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting engineering or technical programs within industrial, defense, or government environments.
  • Experience with remote sensing tools, FME, QGIS, or cloud-hosted geospatial environments.
  • Experience developing web-based GIS products using ArcGIS Experience Builder, Dashboards, or Web AppBuilder.
