Context
Geotechnical Designers needed for Transit Projects in Ontario
Missions/Main Duties
- Technical services primarily focused on Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and O.Reg. 153/04 requirements
- Technical services related to Excess Soil Management to O.Reg. 406/19 requirements
- Design foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks
- Conduct site investigations and soil sampling
- Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions
- Perform geotechnical analysis and interpret data
- Experience in completing peer reviews of technical documents and reports
- Draw on technical skills and expertise to design, install, and conduct ongoing maintenance of remediation systems
- Working familiarity with Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Ontario Regulation 406/19
- Scope & Report preparationReview and evaluate the technical work of other staff
- Maintain excellent client relationships in various industries
Profile/Skills
- 10+ years of experience in environmental assessments and excess soil
- P.Eng. or P.Geo license in Ontario and QPESA designation required
- University degree in a related field of study such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Geology
- Highly technical abilities in environmental site assessment and remediation design, combined with a mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of risk assessment/remediation systems/techniques
- Extensive working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04, as amended (including the filing of Record of Site Condition)
- Extensive working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 406/19, as amended
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities
- Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and put forth creative solutions
