Job Details:SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned business area, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of high-quality products in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned area.
- Providing supervisors with the information, materials, resources, and training needed to achieve production, quality, and safety goals.
- Monitoring and maintaining records related to attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Promoting continuous improvement by encouraging new ideas and supporting Team Member-driven initiatives.
- Analyzing non-routine operational issues and providing recommendations and solutions to the Plant Manager.
- Ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, as well as all applicable federal and state requirements.
- Managing all aspects of the assigned operation, including:
- Safety
- Production yields
- Product quality
- Team Member relations
- Turnover and absenteeism
- Discipline and performance management
- Payroll
- Staffing
- Line speeds
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Processing management experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
Travel: As required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
