Location: USA - Inwood, 261 Development Drive Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: General Manager - Inwood, West Virginia - 117797 Time Type: Full Time POSITION SUMMARY The General Manager of operations is a highly visible leadership role. This individual is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operation, compliance, and financial results for a designated operation. The General Manager ("GM") will serve as a primary customer interface for all leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations. This role is the Champion of overseeing local continuous improvement activities, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, six sigma initiatives, and ISO activities. The "GM" will also develop marketing plans and assist in growing new business. He/she will also ensure that the operation adheres to the overall corporate mission, vision, and core values while consistently meeting client and company expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operations 3 Accountable for overseeing manpower, recruiting, retention, and development of people for the operation in his/her scope of responsibility 3 Ensures that procedures exist at all sites to guarantee client service, productivity, as well as facilities and equipment maintenance 3 Sets goals to provide continuous improvement for assigned site Safety 3 Responsible for the overall safety and security of assigned operations and staff 3 Maintain positive IFR statistics and other safety metrics for assigned operation 3 Actively support and oversee site safety programs and committees for the operation 3 Work in conjunction with company and client safety resources to ensure best practices are in place, maintained, and updated as needed to meet compliance standards with OSHA, DOT, or any other relevant regulatory agency or organization Labor Management 3 Develops teams to achieve company and client objectives for the operation 3 Trains and educates management to ensure that service requirements are met and ultimately exceeded 3 Communicates the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports 3 Actively supports and practices mentoring, succession planning, and management development activities at the site level Management Information System 3 Proactively develops plans and capital requests to ensure appropriate level of automation/technology to service the client 3 Stays abreast of industry trends and latest WMS technology. Budgeting 3 Partners with senior leadership to develop and recommend annual operating budget for assigned operation 3 Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters for the operation 3 Ensures that all accounts achieve predetermined profit standards Customer Service 3 Acts as site level champion of client relationship management 3 Assists in setting standards appropriate to client and scope of work 3 Implements and monitors KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for assigned operation 3 Coordinates and leads business reviews with appropriate client and company representatives for each reporting operation Miscellaneous 3 Participates in local trade, professional, and civic associations as a representative of the company SKILLS & ABILITIES Education and/or Experience 3 High School Diploma or GED is required 3 Budgeting and P&L management experience required 3 At least 3 years of experience in an operations management related position Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations 3 N/A SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Computer Skills 3 Basic understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) 3 Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications Language Skills 3 English (reading, writing, verbal) Mathematical Skills 3 Advanced level expertise required in accounting and financial mathematical applications as related to managing a P&L and preparing site/operational budgets Other 3 The ability to develop effective relationships (CRM), provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives is critical PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3 4-Year College Degree preferred, will consider equivalent experience or combination of education and experience 3 Prefer 5 years' experience in a leadership role in a logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in an operations management capacity 3 Varied industry vertical experience is preferred 3 3PL management experience strongly preferred.
