What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with data leaders to drive sales, recruiting, account management, consulting, and operational excellence across the practice
- Be part of our growing Databricks Center of Excellence and focus onleadingon Databricks projects.
- Act as a Databricks SME, supporting business development efforts and guiding clients through best practices in architecture, data engineering, and scalable analytics
- Drive innovation and performance through a team-based approach that values output, ownership, and employee wellbeing
- Lead and manage project risk-including planning, budgeting, deliverables, and executive-level alignment
- Deepen Slalom's presence in the market by developing proposals, SOWs, and strategies to grow our footprint within existing accounts
- Provide technical and architectural guidance on Databricks, modern data platforms, and cloud-native solutions to both clients and Slalom team members
- Be a mentor and thought leader, regularly recommending emerging technologies and tools that align with client goals and future-state data strategies

What You'll Bring
As a Senior Principal in the Databricks practice, you will bring your broad experience in architecture design and deep expertise in data engineering to tackle the most complex data challenges for our clients. You are a visionary leader who can drive strategic initiatives and foster an environment of innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee large-scale data architecture projects, leveraging Databricks and its specific products such as Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog to deliver high-impact solutions.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with clientobjectives, and maximizing the use of Databricks' features.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through digital transformation and data strategy development, with a focus on leveraging Databricks to its fullest potential.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture, with a minimum of 6+ years of extensive hands-on experience with Databricks, including specific products like Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog.
- Mastery of Big Data Platforms, Cloud Data Warehouses, and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Expertisein NoSQL Databases, Container Management Systems, and AI/ML tools.
Hybrid/In office: We are hybrid but there are expectations that if your team leader requires you onsite that you are able to meet those expectations/requirements Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the expected base salary pay range is $180,000- $205,000. In addition, there is potential for a 15% discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will depend upon individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
