Job Description

Role: Senior Director of AI-Powered Consulting Excellence

Location: Open to Location (must be close to a Slalom office)

Reports to: VP, Talent and People Experience

As Senior Director of AI-Powered Consulting Excellence , you will define how Slalom's consultants learn, grow, and show up for clients in an AI-enabled world. This is a business-critical leadership role at the intersection of consulting excellence, AI-driven capability development, and enterprise people strategy. You will sit at the table with senior consulting leaders - shaping how Slalom's talent performs and wins in the market.

You will lead a team delivering AI-powered learning, consulting and capability development, onboarding and early career experiences, culture and belonging programs, and coaching ecosystems across Slalom's global workforce. The programs are high-impact and scaling. Your job is to keep them moving forward - accelerating adoption, deepening integration with client work, and continuously raising the bar on what great consulting capability looks like.

This role is part of the TAPE leadership team, reporting to the VP of Talent & People Experience, and sits alongside the heads of People Solutions, People Technology, Leadership Development, and Executive Talent Management.

What You'll Do

Lead AI-Enabled Consultant Development
• Set the enterprise vision for how AI transforms consulting capability - from how consultants learn to how they deliver
• Build AI-informed learning paths by capability and role, targeting the skills Slalom needs most to win and deliver in the market
• Drive the evolution from scaled AI awareness to embedded AI practice - ensuring consultants apply fluency on real engagements, not just in the classroom
• Use AI to modernize how development is designed, personalized, and delivered across a global workforce

Define the Consultant of the Future
• Shape a clear, enterprise-wide point of view on the skills, mindsets, and commercial instincts that differentiate Slalom consultants - and keep that definition current as the market evolves
• Partner with senior consulting leaders to continuously refine what great consulting looks like at Slalom, and ensure those expectations are visible, reinforced, and integrated into how consultants develop and advance
• Leverage workforce analytics and market intelligence to inform capability investments - ensuring development stays ahead of where client demand is heading
• Build sponsorship and acceleration models that identify and fast-track high-trajectory talent into the capabilities Slalom needs most

Embed Development in Consulting
• Act as a strategic partner to market and capability leaders - co-owning workforce performance and connecting development directly to client outcomes, delivery excellence, and commercial performance
• Ensure development is experienced in the flow of work - elevating coaching, mentorship, and sponsorship as core operating practices across the consulting organization
• Establish clear visibility into how development investments connect to performance, mobility, and growth

Own and Advance the Program Portfolio
• Lead the People Experience portfolio: consulting and capability development, onboarding and early career, culture and belonging, coaching and assessment ecosystems, and change communications
• Champion experience-based, in-the-flow-of-work learning - with AI as the engine of personalization and scale
• Redesign the early career and first-year experience to produce client-ready consultants faster, with emphasis on problem framing, executive communication, and business judgment
• Continuously measure impact and evolve offerings in response to business performance and market signals

What We're Looking For

AI Fluency - Demonstrated

A track record of using AI to meaningfully change how people work and develop - in consulting, professional services, or a comparably complex, skills-intensive environment. Enough technical depth to lead credible conversations with practitioners, shape vendor decisions, and build AI into the fabric of how your function operates.

Consulting Credibility

Significant experience in professional services - either as a consultant or deeply embedded in consulting delivery, operations, or capability. You understand utilization, pursuit cycles, client relationships, and delivery pressure. Senior consulting leaders trust your judgment because you've lived the work.

Strategic & Analytical Acumen

Proven ability to connect talent strategy to business outcomes using workforce data, market insights, and commercial signals. You think in systems, design at enterprise scale, and make capability investment decisions that hold up under scrutiny.

Executive Influence

A track record of shaping enterprise priorities through insight and credibility. You're comfortable in ambiguity, confident setting direction, and skilled at aligning stakeholders who have competing priorities and full calendars.

People & Capability Leadership

Experience leading development functions where success is defined by workforce performance - not program metrics. You know how to design at scale, measure what matters, and build systems that survive contact with a large, distributed, client-facing organization.

Why This Role Matters

Slalom's consulting workforce is its product. The quality, agility, and AI-readiness of our consultants is what wins clients, delivers outcomes, and differentiates Slalom in a rapidly evolving market. This role ensures that development is woven into how consultants work and grow every day - and that Slalom's people remain the reason clients keep coming back.
