Job Description

Role: Slalom Flex (Project Based) - Senior Technical Project Manager - Mobile/WiFi - Security

Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (DTC)

*Please note: This role is not eligible for remote work. Employees must live within a commutable distance of the South Denver/DTC area and be able to be onsite 4-5 days per week*

The Senior Technical Project Manager is a senior delivery leader responsible for driving complex, cross-functional technical programs for the client. This role leads end-to-end execution of high-impact Mobile and WiFi initiatives with a strong emphasis on security, compliance, and operational excellence.

The PM partners closely with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, operations, product, and business stakeholders to translate technical and security requirements into executable plans, proactively manage risk, and ensure high-quality delivery. This role is well-suited for an experienced consultant who can navigate ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders, and lead sophisticated programs with significant technical and security considerations.

What You'll Do

Technical Program Leadership
  • Lead complex Mobile/WiFi technical programs from intake through delivery, including planning, execution, and deployment of security and compliance initiatives.
  • Translate technical and cybersecurity requirements into clear scope, milestones, delivery plans, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate execution across teams to achieve program and security objectives.

Requirements, Security & Technical Alignment
  • Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and product stakeholders to capture, document, validate, and manage technical and security requirements and dependencies.
  • Ensure proposed designs and solutions align with security standards, policies, and best practices, including secure configurations, encryption, and access controls.
  • Clarify requirements to ensure feasibility, scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise architecture and standards.
  • Maintain accurate, current documentation including requirements, assumptions, integration points, and key technical and security decisions.

Risk, Security & Issue Management
  • Identify, analyze, and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies, including cybersecurity and compliance risks.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and risk teams to assess impact, define mitigations, and develop contingency plans.
  • Maintain RAID artifacts and ensure risks and issues are clearly communicated to leadership and stakeholders with recommended actions.

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Mobile/WiFi security and compliance programs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional forums including working sessions, technical reviews, and security decision meetings, driving clarity and outcomes.
  • Adapt communication style and content for executive, technical, security, and operational audiences.

Program Planning & Execution Excellence
  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans that account for timelines, milestones, resources, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Embed security activities (e.g., threat modeling, security testing, vulnerability remediation) into overall delivery plans.
  • Track execution against plan, identify variances, and drive corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring impacts to scope, schedule, risk, and security posture are understood and approved.

Reporting & Communications
  • Deliver clear, concise program reporting through dashboards, executive summaries, and structured readouts.
  • Surface key accomplishments, upcoming milestones, risks, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Ensure program documentation and artifacts remain accurate, accessible, and audit-ready.

Process, Security & Delivery Improvement
  • Champion best practices in technical and secure delivery using Agile, Scaled Agile, hybrid, or waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery predictability, governance, and cross-team coordination, with a strong security-by-design mindset.
  • Contribute to PMO standards, templates, and playbooks supporting Mobile/WiFi initiatives with embedded security considerations.

What You'll Bring

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical project or program management, including 3+ years in telecom, wireless, networking, or closely related domains.
  • Proven success leading large, complex, multi-team technical programs with significant integration and dependency management.
  • Ability to understand and engage in discussions on technical architectures, network components, system interactions, and Mobile/WiFi security considerations.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts relevant to wireless and network environments, such as network security, IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong experience with risk management, including security risk identification, mitigation, and escalation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical and security topics for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience working in matrixed environments with engineering, security, operations, and product teams.
  • Proficiency with project and program management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to work independently and with teams

Preferred
  • Experience delivering Mobile/WiFi services, wireless network deployments, or large-scale network transformations with embedded security requirements.
  • Hands-on experience partnering closely with cybersecurity, security operations, or risk and compliance organizations.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks or standards such as NIST or ISO 27001 as applied to network and wireless environments.
  • Relevant certifications including PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Agile/Scrum, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the hourly pay range is $58 to $64/HR depending on experience. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
