Job Description

Role: Slalom Flex (Project Based) - Senior Technical Project Manager - Mobile/WiFi

Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (DTC)

*Please note: This role is not eligible for remote work. Employees must live within a commutable distance of the South Denver/DTC area and be able to be onsite 4-5 days per week*

The Senior Technical Project Manager is a senior delivery consultant responsible for leading complex, cross-functional technical programs. This role drives end-to-end delivery of high-impact Mobile and WiFi initiatives, translating technical requirements into executable plans while ensuring alignment across engineering, architecture, operations, product, and business stakeholders.

The PM owns program planning, risk and dependency management, stakeholder communications, and overall execution quality. This role is well-suited for an experienced consultant who can navigate ambiguity, influence without authority, and maintain strong delivery discipline across highly interdependent technical initiatives.

What You'll Do

1. Technical Program Leadership
  • Lead complex Mobile/WiFi technical programs from concept through delivery, including planning, execution, and deployment.
  • Translate technical concepts and requirements into clearly defined scope, milestones, and actionable work plans.
  • Coordinate delivery across teams to meet program objectives.
  • Act as a hands-on delivery leader, driving progress and accountability across multiple teams.

2. Requirements & Technical Alignment
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and product owners to capture, document, and validate technical requirements and dependencies.
  • Clarify requirements to ensure feasibility, scalability, and alignment with architectural standards and delivery constraints.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation, including requirements, technical assumptions, integration points, and key design decisions.

3. Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify, analyze, and manage program risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple teams and platforms.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans, proactively driving issue resolution and escalation when needed.
  • Maintain RAID logs and ensure risks and issues are clearly communicated to leadership and stakeholders.

4. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Mobile/WiFi programs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, technical reviews, and decision forums with clear outcomes, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Tailor communication for diverse audiences, including executive leaders, technical teams, operations partners, and external vendors.

5. Program Planning & Execution Excellence
  • Build and maintain integrated program plans, including timelines, milestones, resource needs, and inter-team dependencies.
  • Build and maintain accurate and up-to-date Jira tickets to reflect delivery status, dependencies, and execution progress.
  • Track execution against plan, identify variances early, and drive corrective actions to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Manage change control processes, ensuring impacts to scope, schedule, and risk are fully understood and approved.

6. Reporting & Communications
  • Provide regular, concise status reporting to leadership and stakeholders through dashboards, executive summaries, and program readouts.
  • Highlight key achievements, upcoming milestones, risks, dependencies, and decision points.
  • Ensure program documentation and artifacts remain current, accessible, and aligned with PMO standards.

7. Process & Delivery Improvement
  • Champion best practices in technical program management, leveraging Agile, Scaled Agile, hybrid, or waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cross-team coordination, governance, and delivery predictability.
  • Contribute to PMO standards, templates, and playbooks supporting Mobile/WiFi initiatives.


What You'll Bring

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical project or program management, including at least 3+ years in telecom, wireless, networking, or closely related domains.
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-team technical programs with significant integration and dependency management.
  • Strong ability to understand and discuss technical architectures, network components, and system interactions across Mobile, WiFi, or Wireless environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management, dependency management, and structured issue resolution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed environments with engineering, operations, and product teams.
  • Strong proficiency with project management tools and delivery methods, including Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms.
  • Consulting experience
  • Ability to work independently and with teams

Preferred
  • Experience delivering Mobile/WiFi services, wireless network deployments, or large-scale network transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models for network or platform programs.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the hourly pay range is $58 to $64/HR depending on experience. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
