The Work
Future Combat Systems is responsible for providing leadership and functional management to a cross-product team of engineering & technology professionals supporting our Integrated Combat System (ICS) product line. This includes the Navy's Systems Engineering and Software Integration (SESI) program, combat system re-architecture efforts funded under Internal Research and Development (IRAD), C-UAS IRADs, and other internal and customer efforts.
The successful candidate for this position will provide oversight of ICS related activities, including design, development, and testing. The ICS first level manager will specifically serve as the first level manager employees supporting the ICS IRAD and other FCS programs.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to the ICS campaign through direct involvement in programs or IRADs, special assignments, and daily work with teams in the FCS organization. As such this role both has functional responsibilities and technical engineering responsibilities.
This Manager is responsible for ensuring that appropriate engineering processes, technical personnel, and design tools are applied and managed. Staffing responsibilities include the projection and planning of appropriate staffing levels, recruiting and selection of interns, contractors, college hires and experienced professionals. Functional group responsibilities include performance assessments, career development & guidance, merit and salary actions, training plans, staffing, and recruiting. This role oversees a diverse and highly skilled set of engineers in E&T.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Engineering or related field with 4 years professional experience.
• Experience with System Engineering processes and/or Software Development processes
• Demonstrated experience leading Engineering teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level
Desired skills
• In-depth understanding of System Engineering processes and/or Software Development processes
• Expertise with Agile methodology and tools, automated testing and continuous integration
• Knowledge of Aegis, Domestic and/or Foreign baselines and missions
• Demonstrated experience leading diverse large scale engineering teams
• Proven leadership experience in the architecture, design, requirements, coding and testing of weapon systems
• Strong and proven understanding of the engineering development process
• Cost account manager (CAM) experience and EVM experience
• Cost estimation, proposal and/or capture experience
• Demonstrated project leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating (verbal, written and presentation) with all employee levels, senior management, internal stakeholders and external customers
• Knowledge and experience with resource and staffing requirements
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to assess the performance and set expectations/ goals for direct reports
• Strong mentoring capabilities

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $125,600 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
