Work you'll do/Responsibilities
  • This is a Managed Service engagement supporting the Alternative Finance Controllers group at a global investment manager, with our team acting as a dedicated oversight and review layer between fund accountants and the controller team. We drive quality and control across the fund accounting lifecycle - reviewing NAV calculations for accuracy and policy compliance, supporting investor servicing deliverables like capital calls, distributions, and statements, overseeing cash reconciliations and funding activities, and providing broader QA across fund accounting operations. We are also transforming the work within the finance operate space by creating automation and utilizing globally sourced teams to drive efficiency.
  • As Fund Group Lead for a complex hybrid fund portfolio, this role owns end-to-end delivery oversight for a designated group of funds, acting as the primary point of accountability between the global fund accounting team and the client's controller group. Beyond day-to-day review responsibilities, the role is also responsible for leading and developing a global team, and driving process automation and efficiency across the group's deliverables.
  • Core responsibilities include:
    • NAV Reporting - Leading the review and validation of net asset value calculations for complex hybrid fund structures, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to fund-specific accounting policies and valuation methodologies prior to controller sign-off.
    • Investor Servicing - Overseeing review of investor-facing deliverables (investor statements, subscription/redemption processing) across the fund group, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency ahead of controller and investor delivery.
    • Cash Management - Directing cash reconciliation and funding processes for the fund group, ensuring appropriate controls are applied and exceptions are escalated and resolved promptly.
    • General Fund Accounting Support - Providing senior-level QA across recurring fund accounting activities (e.g., expense allocations, management fee calculations, financial statement support), resolving complex or judgment-based discrepancies specific to hybrid fund structures.
    • Team Leadership - Managing, coaching, and developing a global team of fund accountants and reviewers, balancing workload across time zones and ensuring consistent quality standards and delivery timelines.
    • Process Automation & Efficiency - Identifying opportunities to automate manual review and reconciliation activities, partnering with technology teams to implement tools that reduce cycle time and improve accuracy, and continuously refining workflows to drive greater efficiency across the fund group.
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management.
  • Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes.
The successful candidate would possess these skills:
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide clear guidance to others
