What is the opportunity?

The Finance Modernization team within FIAT is responsible for supporting the CFO group by delivering simplified, centralised, and automated solutions using modern infrastructure to to reduce operational risk, improve the stakeholder experience, elevate insights and enhance scalability. The Functional Director, Finance Modernization role will lead the requirements and align the efforts of entity integrations, ensuring seamless integration, governance, and execution of ERP programs across the organization.

What will you do?

Functional Leadership and Delivery
  • Lead requirements definition for core accounting processes: General Ledger, Sub-ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, intercompany transactions, consolidation, and period-end close and financial reporting requirements including statutory reporting, management reporting, and regulatory compliance (SOX, audit).
  • Translate banking and financial products (across business lines) complexity into system and process requirements by ensuring integration with data platform and core accounting applications.
  • Direct Business Analysts to deliver program success through functional leadership, governance, accountability, and robust execution covering scope, planning, requirements, analysis, testing, and implementation.
  • Establish trusted partnership with senior Finance and Technology leadership to align priorities, strategic trade-offs, and business strategies, ensuring deliverables meet outcomes and enable value creation.
  • Provide technology thought leadership to address business/regulatory demands, manage scope/priorities/changes, and promote cross-functional collaboration for enterprise solutions.
  • Facilitate execution against the multi-year data & AI engineering strategy, technology roadmap and data governance standards across the organization
  • Shape the long-term strategic direction for data platforms and ERP systems, ensuring alignment with business growth and regulatory requirements


Team Management and Development
  • Provide strategic leadership to a diverse team of business and data analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance.
  • Coach and mentor team on best practices, strategic thinking and professional growth.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive team environment, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
  • Establish succession plans for key positions, including your role, and ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to support the finance transformation initiative.


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex transformation programs, including multi-entity rollouts in global financial institutions.
  • Deep expertise and knowledge on financial products spanning banking, capital markets, wealth management (such as Loans, Mortgages, Deposits, Investment accounts, Cash Equities, Bond, Exchange Traded and OTC Derivatives).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and financial reporting with prior experience in Finance systems, accounting, or financial products.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Platforms or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and their implementation, including integration with enterprise GL systems
  • Cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present complex technical topics to finance and IT leaders.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with experience tailoring messages and leading discussions for senior audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead organizations through significant structural and process change, with exceptional organizational change management skills.
  • Superior executive-level communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical, and planning skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.
  • Experience using business analysis and requirements modeling tools, such as data flow diagrams, relationship data models and business process modelling.

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Accounting, Business Analysis and ERP certifications
  • Familiarity and working experience with RBC systems and data contracts
