Full Job Description
Full Stack Engineer II

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Full Stack Engineer II independently designs and delivers production-grade cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure. This engineer owns microservice and frontend delivery end-to-end - from domain modeling and database design through containerized deployment, CI/CD automation, and production observability. They apply Domain-Driven Design and Hexagonal Architecture as core practice, enforce TDD and code coverage standards across the team, lead code reviews with authority, and mentor Level I engineers through hands-on coaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and deliver production microservices using C#, ASP.NET Core, and .NET 8+, producing clean, testable code with complete API documentation and contract definitions.
• Build and own production React and Angular applications - designing component architecture, managing state with Redux, NgRx, or Signals, implementing lazy loading, and integrating with backend APIs.
• Design and govern the team's frontend component system using Tailwind CSS - defining design tokens, reusable component patterns, and responsive layout standards that other engineers follow.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design rigorously - defining bounded contexts, modeling aggregates, publishing domain events, and enforcing repository abstractions that keep the domain clean.
• Enforce Hexagonal / Clean Architecture across every service - isolating domain and application logic from infrastructure concerns and inverting all dependencies consistently.
• Design and manage SQL Server databases - authoring schema designs, T-SQL stored procedures, index strategies, query optimization plans, and migration scripts.
• Design and operate Azure Cosmos DB workloads - modeling documents for the SQL API, selecting partition keys, configuring indexing policies, and applying NoSQL API patterns where appropriate.
• Practice TDD rigorously in every feature - write tests before implementation, achieve and enforce code coverage targets, and maintain test suites that give the team confidence to refactor.
• Lead code reviews for the team - enforcing clean code standards, SOLID principles, and architectural boundaries, and using reviews as a coaching tool for Level I engineers.
• Build and deploy Azure Functions across all trigger types - owning serverless workflow automation and event-driven integration patterns from development through production.
• Develop .NET Aspire service compositions - configuring service defaults, health checks, service discovery, and telemetry pipelines for multi-service local and cloud environments.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy and manage workloads on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) - authoring manifests, Helm charts, ingress rules, and ConfigMaps.
• Design event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus topics, queues, and sessions, as well as Azure Event Grid and Event Hubs for real-time integration.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps - authoring YAML pipelines with multi-stage deployments, environment promotion gates, and automated rollback procedures.
• Enforce GitOps methodology across the team - managing declarative configuration, branch-based environment promotion, and Kubernetes deployments via Flux or ArgoCD.
• Configure MuleSoft API gateway policies - implementing rate limiting, OAuth 2.0, message transformation, and API security controls in Anypoint Platform.
• Instrument .NET services end-to-end with OpenTelemetry - capturing distributed traces, custom metrics, and structured logs, and exporting telemetry to Azure Monitor via OTLP.
• Build Azure Monitor dashboards and configure Application Insights alert rules so the team has full visibility into service health and SLA compliance.
• Implement deployment strategies such as blue/green and canary releases, and manage feature flags using Azure App Configuration to reduce deployment risk.
• Author Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) that capture the rationale behind significant design and API contract decisions for future reference.
• Automate release workflows, environment setup scripts, and operational runbooks to reduce manual toil across the team.
• Mentor Level I engineers through pair programming sessions, structured code reviews, and regular knowledge sharing.
• Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
• Incorporates AAA's vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA's vision mission and values.
