Full Stack Engineer I
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Full Stack Engineer I builds and maintains cloud-native features within the Microsoft Azure platform under senior engineer guidance. This engineer contributes to C#/.NET microservices, delivers frontend features using React, Angular, and Blazor, and implements Azure Functions for serverless workloads. They write test-driven code, participate actively in CI/CD pipelines, and build foundational skills across Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, data persistence, and production observability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build and maintain .NET microservices and REST APIs using C#, ASP.NET Core, and Web API, following team patterns and working under senior engineer guidance.
• Deliver frontend features using React or Angular - building components, managing routing and state, integrating REST APIs, and applying Tailwind CSS utility classes to produce responsive, accessible UIs.
• Follow the team's Tailwind CSS conventions consistently - applying design tokens, spacing scales, and component patterns established by senior engineers.
• Implement Azure Functions using HTTP, timer, queue, and blob triggers for serverless workloads, following team-established patterns and deployment conventions.
• Practice Test-Driven Development - write a failing test first, implement the minimum code needed to make it pass, and refactor before moving on.
• Write unit tests and integration tests using xUnit or MSTest and consistently meet the team's code coverage thresholds.
• Participate actively in code reviews - apply feedback constructively, follow clean code standards, and use each review as a learning opportunity.
• Write queries, stored procedures, and schema migrations against SQL Server using T-SQL, following the team's naming and schema conventions.
• Read and write data using Azure Cosmos DB - querying documents via the SQL API and applying NoSQL API patterns under senior engineer guidance.
• Contribute within a Hexagonal / Clean Architecture structure - understanding how domain, application, and infrastructure layers relate and why dependency direction matters.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design concepts in day-to-day work - recognizing entities, value objects, aggregates, and repositories and using them correctly under guidance.
• Containerize services using Docker and understand the basics of how Kubernetes schedules and manages workloads.
• Use .NET Aspire for local multi-service orchestration and service discovery under guidance, learning how Aspire simplifies distributed development.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline execution via Azure DevOps, apply GitOps branching conventions, and resolve build failures when they arise.
• Instrument .NET services with OpenTelemetry following team standards, and query logs and metrics in Azure Monitor and Application Insights to investigate issues.
• Consume and publish events via Azure Service Bus or Azure Event Grid under guidance, understanding the basics of event-driven communication.
• Consume MuleSoft-managed APIs and develop an understanding of what an API gateway does and how routing and policy enforcement work.
• Use Visual Studio and VS Code fluently - applying the debugger, test runner, profiler, and source control integration as part of a normal development workflow.
• Document service designs, API contracts, and deployment runbooks clearly and keep them current as code evolves.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience - 0-2 years of experience in software engineering or full stack development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• C# / .NET - Working knowledge of C# and .NET (6/7/8), including ASP.NET Core, Web API, and basic dependency injection
• Frontend - Working knowledge of React or Angular, including component patterns, props/state management, routing, and REST API integration
• Tailwind CSS - Familiarity with utility-first CSS and ability to apply Tailwind CSS classes to build responsive layouts following team conventions
• Azure - Hands-on exposure to Azure Functions, App Service, Service Bus, and Blob Storage is preferred
• .NET Aspire - Awareness of .NET Aspire service orchestration and service defaults concepts is preferred
• SQL Server - Ability to write T-SQL queries including joins, aggregations, filtering, and basic stored procedures
• Cosmos DB - Familiarity with Cosmos DB SQL API document queries; awareness of NoSQL API patterns is preferred
• TDD - Awareness of Test-Driven Development and ability to write unit tests using xUnit or MSTest
• Code Coverage - Familiarity with code coverage tooling and an understanding of team-defined coverage thresholds
• Code Reviews - Ability to participate in code reviews, receive feedback graciously, and apply improvements constructively
• Clean Architecture - Awareness of Hexagonal / Clean Architecture principles and layer separation
• DDD - Awareness of Domain-Driven Design concepts, including entities, aggregates, value objects, and repositories
• Docker / K8s - Basic familiarity with Docker containerization and awareness of Kubernetes pod and deployment concepts
• CI/CD - Familiarity with Git branching, pull requests, and basic Azure DevOps pipeline execution
• Observability - Awareness of Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation concepts
• MuleSoft - Awareness of API gateway concepts; exposure to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is a plus
• Tools - Proficiency in Visual Studio and VS Code for .NET and frontend development
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Certification - AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) or AZ-204 (Azure Developer Associate) preferred

SALARY:
• Hiring Range: $98,634 $113,424

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Hybrid work from home and office required
• The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
