Job Summary

Responsible for financial controls, accounting systems and reports. Administratively responsible for record keeping, collection and distribution of funds required for the operation of the Airport.

Essential Job Functions
  • Manage, direct and supervise Accounting Department staff and Administrative Assistant.
  • Maintenance of Airport records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Preparation of Airport financial statements as required by the Company and NYSDOT.
  • Preparation and distribution of billing, including tenant cost allocation recovery, periodic tenant fee adjustments and all other business activity fees.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and collection efforts.
  • Airport purchasing coordinator.
  • Safeguarding of cash and depositing of all collections.
  • Preparation of Operating Budget.
  • Responsible for the employee orientation and human resource functions. Responsible for Sexual Harassment and any other annual training session as may be required by the Company.
  • Responsible for all hardware and software needs of the Department.
  • Participate in the audit process, as required.
  • Participate in the "Total Quality Management" efforts.
  • Participate in the OSHA programs when required.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required by the Airport Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required.
  • At least three (3) years' experience in accounting and finance is desirable.


Licenses, Certifications & Eligibility
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver's License as a condition of employment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain all airport staff access and security clearances.


Technical & Functional Skills
  • Demonstrates ability to handle problems associated with accounting operations, preparation of trial balances, accounting analysis, financial statements and reports.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage the department in a professional manner, possess leadership skills, communicates effectively and be able to provide customer service to both internal and external customers and clients.
  • Must have general knowledge of accounting systems, contract administration, hardware and software.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Preferred Skills
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.


Work Authorization & Travel Requirements
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, and legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required airport credentials, including security badges, background clearances, and authorizations required to access secure, restricted, and operational areas of the airport.
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and training required by regulatory agencies and company policies.
  • Must successfully complete required safety, security, operational, emergency response, and company policy training.
  • This position may be designated as safety-sensitive and is subject to applicable regulatory, employer, and airport authority requirements.
