Position SummaryThe Director - Global Business Development is responsible for driving strategic sales growth and business development efforts across multinational accounts throughout the United States. This role focuses on securing new 3PL/TPL business opportunities, expanding existing client relationships, and delivering customized global logistics solutions. The ideal candidate is a results-driven sales leader with extensive experience managing complex logistics programs, global RFQs, and cross-functional customer engagements.
Qualifications & SkillsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree
- 8-12 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and Freight Forwarding
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and logistics solutions
- Experience developing business strategies and leading new business initiatives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business applications
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree
- 10-15 years of business management and business development experience
- 4-7 years of supervisory experience

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales- Develop and secure new multinational customer accounts requiring cross-border and multi-modal logistics solutions
- Lead business development activities from prospecting and lead generation through contract negotiation and closure
- Identify opportunities to expand market share, revenue, and gross profit across logistics service offerings
- Drive upselling initiatives across freight forwarding, drayage, warehousing, and related services
- Lead global RFQ responses and pricing strategy development
Account Management & Customer Relations- Serve as the primary point of contact for key global clients
- Develop long-term account strategies focused on growth, innovation, and customer retention
- Deliver performance reviews and business updates to customers
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Support issue resolution and act as an escalation point for complex customer concerns
Strategic Planning & Operations- Design customized logistics solutions aligned with customer supply chain requirements
- Collaborate with global headquarters, regional offices, and operational teams to execute customer programs
- Lead implementation and onboarding of new accounts, including system integration and SOP development
- Monitor operational performance metrics, service levels, and financial results
- Identify business risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure service continuity
Leadership & Collaboration- Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance service offerings and support strategic growth initiatives
- Provide market intelligence and industry insights to support business decisions
- Train and support operational teams on customer requirements and service expectations
- Represent GLOVIS America during executive-level customer meetings and business reviews
- Perform additional duties as assigned
